You want your work to matter. You want to connect people, give direction and help colleagues understand how their work shapes the world around them. At Van Oord, internal communication is not just about sending messages. It is about building trust, driving change and helping thousands of colleagues feel informed, involved and proud. This is your chance to strengthen connection across an international, project driven organisation and help us build the future together.

THE POSITION

As Internal Communication Advisor, you play a key role in strengthening alignment within Van Oord. You work in the Stakeholders and Sustainability team and report to the Lead Internal Communication. From major change programmes to organisation wide initiatives, you translate strategy into clear and compelling communication.

You see the bigger picture and know how to turn it into stories that resonate across teams, vessels and offices worldwide.

YOUR IMPACT

You will:

  • Develop and implement communication plans for departments, change programmes and strategic projects
  • Advise and support managers and project leaders on complex communication challenges
  • Translate strategy into strong narratives and audience focused communication across channels
  • Coordinate communication projects, events and external suppliers from start to finish
  • Monitor effectiveness and continuously improve tools, processes and impact

You will join the Stakeholders and Sustainability team in Rotterdam. A team that believes communication is a powerful driver of culture, connection and progress. We work closely with colleagues across the organisation, from project sites to headquarters.

The atmosphere is open and supportive. We give you trust and freedom to act. You will work with professionals who value clear thinking, honest feedback and teamwork. Together, we make sure our story is consistent, human and future focused.

ABOUT YOU

You are a strategic thinker with a practical mindset. You enjoy advising at management level and taking ownership of delivery yourself. You feel at home in a dynamic, international environment where many topics move at the same time.

You bring:

  • Solid experience as an internal communication advisor in a corporate or project driven environment
  • HBO level education or equivalent, preferably in communication or a related field
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate organisational strategy into clear communication
  • Experience with change communication and complex stakeholder environments
