The department Technology DCW Equipment Development plays a key role in the development of new & customized products and technologies to strengthen our position and differentiate our products.

Your position

In this role as an Electrical Development Engineer (Special Design), working under the supervision of the Module Deployment Group and responsible for managing customized products (e.g., advice, design, test), you will be part of a multidisciplinary (mechanical, electro-mechanical and controls) team.

You will be working on the design, development, and testing of new and customized functionalities for our products and systems. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining electrical installations and control cabinets using tools such as EPLAN/ProPanel, ensuring compliance with relevant standards like NEN-EN-IEC 60204. The solutions you develop will serve as modular building blocks for our Engineering department and will be integrated into customer systems worldwide. Where needed, you will support colleagues during the integration process, contributing to efficient and effective solutions that meet the needs of complex, multidisciplinary projects.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Design and development of electrical diagrams and 3D cabinet design in E-Plan / Pro Panel for products and special requests from projects.
  • Maintain existing cabinets to the latest requirements and quality feedback.
  • Create materials lists.
  • Optimize and release designs for production with a quality mindset.
  • Support internal customers by answering technical questions (e.g., supply chain, sales and project engineering).
  • Mitigate design risks.
  • Contribute to the development of your technical domain.
  • Develop and optimize innovative solutions for power distribution, ASibus, Industrial Ethernet, sensors and frequency controllers, etc.
  • Perform electrical/mechanical component research.
  • Organize and conduct tests in our Innovation Centre.

Your profile

You must have obtained a relevant technical degree within the last two years.

  • Technical qualification, preferably an MBO+ or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Automation or equivalent.
  • Experience and affinity with Eplan / ProPanel.
  • Knowledge of regulations such as NEN-EN-IEC 60204 and NEN-EN-IEC 61439.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations such as NEN-EN-IEC 13849.
  • Willingness to gain knowledge about UL508A (North American regulations).
  • Familiar with ASibus and Industrial Ethernet.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong team player across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Opportunity and willingness to travel abroad (up to 10%).
  • Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary, diverse and global team environment.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, eager to learn and improve every day; drive to win.
  • Strong command of the English language, both verbal and written; proficiency in Dutch is preferred.
