Would you like to progress your career in a dynamic, rewarding and market-leading environment? If the answer is “yes”, then look no further than Vanderlande! We’ll give you the opportunity to work with our inspiring and talented experts on world-class projects – while growing your network, broadening your experience and expanding your horizons.

After your onboarding, where you learn our Engineering way of working, your first project could be to support a Sales Engineer with a modification project to expand an existing system. For example, fitting the additional equipment into an existing building and system is not always obvious. Besides that, the system is live so phasing and logistics are important. After the design, that you create in close cooperation with a Sales Engineer, is ordered by the customer, you set up the detailed engineering and specifications so that Vanderlande can start with the manufacturing of the system.

Your position

As a Controls Project Engineer (PLC) – Service Projects, you will design and program PLC controls that meet high quality demands on a project basis. During the commissioning phase, you will carry out functional testing of the PLC hardware and software and integrate these into the overall control system. This position involves regular on-site work to commission control and transport systems. In most projects, you will work with a team of multidisciplinary engineers, but you are also able to complete controls engineering independently. You will support multiple leads and projects in execution simultaneously. In live environments, unexpected challenges may arise, and together with your team, you will work towards solutions to ensure everything is installed and commissioned on time. As a Vanderlande Controls Project Engineer for Warehousing projects, you are passionate about creating innovative engineering solutions.

Your profile

  • This vacancy is open to both junior and senior engineers.
  • Successfully completed education at HBO (higher vocational education) level in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, Computer Science, or Controls Technology.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in a comparable position.
  • Knowledge of and experience in PLC applications (Siemens S7), STEP7, TIA Portal, and older Siemens PLCs.
  • Familiarity with network topologies such as Profinet, ASI-bus, and older topologies like Profibus.
  • Willingness to work regularly for extended periods in other countries (up to 35% of your time).
  • Good command of the English language; Dutch is preferred.
  • Driving license required.

What we offer

In this challenging and responsible position, you will have the chance to make a significant contribution to industry-leading projects and be connected to our dedicated people and customers. We offer a position in an informal, international, and professional working environment with plenty of room for personal development. By joining our profitable and growing company, you will be able to reach your goals and focus on your future. We are looking for junior, mid, and senior candidates. This position offers a competitive salary range of €4.800,00 up to €5.800,00 per month (excluding 8% holiday allowance) with a comprehensive travel allowance. Outstanding performance may allow you to grow beyond this scale.

On top of your fixed salary, you’ll receive the following secondary benefits:

  • 40 vacation days (20 statutory days and a flexible budget worth 20 days)
  • Flexible working hours
  • A hybrid workplace (40% working from home and 60% in the office)
  • A Health & Wellbeing budget worth €300 per calendar year
