From our location in Enschede, you will work together with experts from various disciplines on innovative solutions that matter.

What are you going to do?

As a senior aerospace engineer, you will work on challenging and socially relevant projects, such as the development of the PAMI-1 satellite and applications for various types of unmanned aerial vehicles. You will be responsible for the design, simulation, and integration of complex systems, working closely with colleagues within Demcon and with external partners such as companies, government agencies, and knowledge institutes.

You will play a leading role in multidisciplinary teams, monitoring technical choices and guiding the development process. You will translate customer requirements into innovative technical solutions and supervise the process from concept to verification. In doing so, you will manage talented engineers, maintain momentum in the process, and ensure the delivery of prototypes and products with impact.

In the projects, you demonstrate decisiveness from a technical perspective and work closely with the project manager to move the team and the project forward. You have a high degree of independence and freedom in organizing your work, and you are seen as an inspiration and coach for your colleagues. You combine technical insight, experience, and problem-solving skills to inspire confidence in customers and to demonstrate entrepreneurship in shaping projects.

What do you bring to the table?

• A completed technical degree at university level in aerospace engineering.
• At least 8 years of relevant work experience in aviation technology at a relevant company or institute (NLR/TNO).
• Experience as a systems engineer/systems architect. You have knowledge of relevant standards and design codes (e.g., AS9100, STANAG, and AQAP) and can apply them in your role as lead engineer.
• You enjoy time-critical projects
• You mentor junior engineers and pass on your knowledge to them
• You have strong analytical skills, communicate clearly, and enjoy working in a team. You handle confidential information with discretion.
