About Demcon

Demcon develops and manufactures high-quality technology and complex systems, from concept through to series production. Driven by our ambition to solve societal and technological challenges, we combine in-depth engineering expertise with creativity to develop solutions that make a real impact. We build prototypes, industrialise and manufacture innovative systems, with a strong focus on mechatronics. In doing so, we bring together mechanical, electrical and software engineering with disciplines such as robotics, optics and data science. This enables us to support our customers throughout the entire product lifecycle.

At Navionyx systems, part of Demcon, we develop innovative medical products and systems for customers around the world. Within Demcon, you will collaborate with experts from various disciplines on challenging projects in health, life sciences, high-tech systems, energy and sustainability. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to turn innovative ideas into products that truly make a difference.

What are you going to do?

As a Mechanical engineer, you will be responsible for developing smart, robust and manufacturable mechanical solutions. You combine in-depth technical expertise with a practical approach, ensuring that innovative ideas are transformed into successful products.

You understand the underlying physical principles of a system and know how to translate them into functional designs that meet the requirements of customers, users and production environments. Quality, reliability and functionality are key.

Your responsibilities also include:

  • Developing mechanical concepts and technical solutions;
  • Translating user and system requirements into concrete designs;
  • Developing designs in CAD (SolidWorks) and preparing technical documentation;
  • Analysing and ensuring system and product functionality;
  • Setting up, designing and evaluating prototypes and tests;
  • Collaborating with system engineers, software engineers, electronics engineers and industrial designers;
  • Making technical trade-offs based on functionality, risks, manufacturability, quality and costs;
  • Conducting design reviews and contributing to the continuous improvement of engineering methods.

What do you bring to the table?

You are curious, analytical and driven to truly understand technical challenges. You are able to break down complex problems to their core and translate them into solutions that are not only technically sound, but also practical and manufacturable.

You work accurately, take responsibility for your work and continuously look for opportunities to improve products and solutions. You make technical decisions based on thorough analysis and a solid understanding of the underlying principles.

In addition, you have:

  • A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical field;
  • An affinity with product development and mechanical design;
  • Experience with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks;
  • Experience with FEM simulation software, such as Ansys;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • A hands-on mindset and experience in designing, building and testing your own systems and prototypes;
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team;
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial and independent attitude;
  • Good command of both Dutch and English.

What do we offer you?

At Demcon, you work on technology that truly matters. In an informal organisation where there is room for initiative and enjoyable collaboration with driven colleagues, you contribute to solutions for today and tomorrow. We genuinely care about you as a person and encourage job satisfaction and a healthy work-life balance.

In addition, you can expect:

  • 8% holiday allowance, with the option to have it paid in May or monthly with your salary;
  • 25 days of annual leave and 6 additional leave days (ATV) based on full-time employment, with the option to purchase additional days;
  • A hybrid working arrangement: up to 2 days per week working from home for full-time employees, always in consultation with your manager;
  • Training courses and programmes through the Demcon Academy to support your personal and professional development;
  • A good pension scheme with Zwitserleven;
  • A bicycle plan/lease bicycle scheme;
  • A vitality programme including sports clinics, fresh fruit, workshops and a workplace assessment;
  • An active staff association, with different activities every month and an annual Demcon weekend.
