Introduction
Within ASML’s EUV Factory organization in Veldhoven, the team is responsible for managing and reviewing customer infrastructure documentation required before system installation. These documents describe critical requirements related to utilities, facilities, cooling, power, and other installation interfaces. Today, reviewing and validating these large document packages is a manual process that can take up to three weeks and requires extensive expert effort. Because even small mistakes can lead to quality risks, delays, and significant costs, the team is looking for opportunities to improve both speed and accuracy. During this Artificial Intelligence | Computer Science internship: AI-powered document review, you will explore how Artificial Intelligence can help automate document reviews and support faster, more reliable decision-making.
Your assignment
In this internship, you will investigate how AI can be applied to automate the review of customer requirement documentation. You will develop a proof of concept that demonstrates how AI can identify inconsistencies, implementation errors, and review findings that currently require significant manual effort. Working closely with stakeholders across multiple teams, you will evaluate where automation adds value and where expert review remains necessary. Your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop a proof of concept for AI-supported document review
- Build Python-based solutions to detect inconsistencies and errors
- Evaluate which review activities can be automated and which require expert input
- Validate the performance and reliability of AI-generated review results
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and feedback
- Deliver recommendations for scaling and implementing the solution
