Program Scientist / Team Leader Data Acquisition and Analytics

As Program Scientist / Team Leader Data Acquisition and Analytics, you are responsible for initiating, implementing and managing highly innovative genomics technology development programs aiming to accelerate molecular plant breeding. Single cell, spatial and multi-omics technologies will take a prominent role in these programs. Such programs uniquely integrate wet lab experimental work with bioinformatics analysis to ensure development of seamless end-to-end innovative workflows. Consequently, you will lead a multi-disciplinary team of R&D professionals covering both experimental as well as bioinformatics expertise. Coaching and inspiring your team members in their individual development is an important aspect of your leadership skills. Through intensive interactions with breeding companies and research partners, you will define short- and long-term research goals and ensure concise reporting of progress and timely delivery of technology innovations. You will be reporting to the Vice-President Omics & Trait Innovations.

Location: KeyGene headquarters in Wageningen, the Netherlands

Your qualifications

• Ph.D. in genomics research
• Highly experienced with sequencing-based tech development for molecular genetics applications
• Internationally recognized scientific leader with a global network
• Strong and inspiring vision on integrating bioinformatic analysis tools with (single-cell) genome technology innovations and ability to translate these into cutting-edge R&D programs
• Innovative, ambitious and enthusiastic research leader with solid communicative skills in global setting
• Entrepreneurial and customer-oriented
• Proven leadership and project management skills

Your track record

• Excellent track record of delivering R&D innovations demonstrated by several high-impact scientific and/or patent publications
• Thorough experience in the field of NGS (platforms, data production, analysis)
• Affinity for intellectual property (IP) protection of inventions
