Senior QHSE Engineer
Delft - Health & Safety
You will work on some of our larger and more complex offshore projects, taking ownership of the QHSE scope from preparation through execution. You will may act as the QHSE Lead within the project team, while remaining closely connected to our vessels and offshore operations.
This is a senior, hands-on position for someone who can set direction, make sound decisions and turn QHSE requirements into practical solutions that work in a demanding offshore environment.
Your role
As Lead QHSE Engineer, you are the senior QHSE point of contact for Project Management, vessel teams and the wider organisation.
You take responsibility for the QHSE approach within assigned projects and ensure that requirements are translated into effective plans, processes and actions. You provide direction where needed, challenge decisions constructively and help project teams manage QHSE risks throughout the project lifecycle.
Your responsibilities include:
- Coach and support colleagues and project teams on QHSE matters and share knowledge and lessons learned across projects and vessels.
- Take ownership of the QHSE scope for assigned offshore projects, from preparation and tendering through mobilisation, execution and close-out;
- Act as QHSE Lead on larger or more complex projects where required;
- Advise and challenge Project Managers, Vessel Management and other key stakeholders on QHSE risks, priorities and decisions;
- Develop and oversee project-specific QHSE plans, procedures and deliverables;
- Ensure effective implementation of Allseas’ management system and applicable client, contractual and regulatory requirements;
- Lead and participate in project and operational risk assessments;
- Lead or support investigations into significant incidents, identify underlying causes and ensure lessons learned are translated into effective improvements;
- Plan and conduct internal and external audits and ensure appropriate follow-up of findings;
What we expect from you
You are comfortable operating independently and taking ownership. You know when to advise, when to challenge and when a clear decision is needed. As a senior member of the QHSE team, you also take an active role in coaching and supporting junior colleagues, helping them develop their expertise and confidence.
At the same time, you understand that successful QHSE management is not achieved from behind a desk. You build relationships with project teams, vessel crews and technical specialists and understand the realities of offshore operations.
You can move between strategic discussions and operational detail: from discussing project risks with senior stakeholders to investigating an incident, reviewing vessel modification or joining a project team offshore.
Above all, you can turn QHSE expertise into practical action and create an environment in which people take ownership of safety, quality and environmental performance.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Safety, Engineering or a related technical discipline;
- Significant professional experience within QHSE, preferably gained in offshore, marine, subsea, energy or another high-risk technical project environment;
- Demonstrable experience taking ownership of QHSE within projects or operations;
- Strong knowledge of occupational health & safety, risk management and management systems;
- Experience with incident investigation, audits and risk assessments;
- A recognised Health & Safety qualification such as Dutch HVK/IVK, NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent;
