About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.

The Data Center team designs and operates some of the most sophisticated electrical and HVAC systems in the world. We are an upbeat, creative, team-oriented group of engineers committed to building and operating powerful data centers.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

  • Finland: €98000 - €100000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
  • Netherlands: €130000 - €133000 (EUR) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
  • Sweden: kr1000000 - kr1020000 (SEK) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

Google is a global company and, in order to facilitate efficient collaboration and communication globally, English proficiency is a requirement for all roles unless stated otherwise in the job posting.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end data center power infrastructure across EMEA markets from origination and negotiation through execution and post-energization management, encompassing transmission and distribution grid connections, virtual power plants, and direct-wire structures.
  • Secure adequate, reliable power to support planned data center development and growth.
  • Partner with transmission system operators, distribution system operators, and internal teams (policy, commercial negotiation, acquisition, leasing, technical engineering) to optimize schedules, capacity, cost efficiency, and risk mitigations.
  • Develop business cases for power acceleration and capacity expansion via flexible interconnections, on-/off-site generation, transmission buildouts, and novel large-load solutions.
  • Track project variances, maintain accurate planning data, manage counterparties for on-time delivery, and conduct energy due diligence during site selection to drive portfolio expansion.

Though Google has grown a lot since it opened in 1998, we still maintain a small company feel. At lunchtime, almost everyone eats in the office café, sitting at whatever table has an opening and enjoying conversations with Googlers from different teams. Our commitment to innovation depends on everyone being comfortable sharing ideas and opinions. Every employee is a hands-on contributor, and everyone wears several hats. Because we believe that each Googler is an equally important part of our success, no one hesitates to pose questions directly to anyone, at any level, in the company.
