Technical Subcontract Manager Electrical

As a Technical Subcontract Manager Electrical at Damen Naval, you play a key role in coordinating and managing electrical subcontracted work packages within complex naval projects. From preparation and procurement through engineering, installation and testing, you ensure that subcontracted electrical activities are delivered in accordance with project requirements, specifications, planning, quality and cost objectives.

Working closely with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors and project teams, you take ownership of the technical coordination and integration of electrical work packages. You monitor progress, facilitate project activities and ensure that deliverables and contractual obligations are met throughout the project lifecycle.

Key accountabilities

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Managing, coordinating and facilitating multiple electrical subcontractors and suppliers during the preparation and execution of projects.
• Taking ownership of the technical integration of electrical work packages and coordinating the activities of the relevant subcontractors.
• Ensuring that electrical products and services comply with applicable requirements and specifications within agreed schedules, quality standards and cost limits.
• Securing the execution and synchronization of project activities, deliverables and contractual obligations of subcontractors.
• Organizing and participating in project reviews and monitoring progress, interfaces, risks and required actions.
• Participating as the accepting party during contractual milestones, tests and trials, such as FAT, HAT and SAT.
• Supporting technical and commercial evaluations, including proposal evaluations and cost and price analyses, and assisting with warranty-related issues when required.

Skills & experience

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or another relevant technical discipline combined with 7–10 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 5–7 years of relevant experience.
• Broad knowledge of electrical installations, preferably within ships, naval shipbuilding or offshore installations.
• Proven experience working with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors and project or programme managers in a complex technical environment.
• Experience managing complex projects and subcontracted technical work packages.
• Good understanding of engineering concepts, practices and the technical integration of electrical systems.
• Strong planning and organizational skills, with the ability to manage priorities, interfaces, deliverables and deadlines across multiple stakeholders.
• A decisive and proactive approach, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Knowledge of project management methodologies, such as IPMA, is an advantage.
• Good command of both Dutch and English, written and spoken, and willingness to travel and work abroad, potentially for longer periods or on intercontinental projects.
