2027 MUFG Analyst Programme: Finance Track

As part of the 2027 MUFG Analyst Programme: Finance Track, you will complete three rotations across three business areas with a final placement in one of the teams within the Finance Domain.

• Location: Amsterdam; the role is based in the Netherlands, and all candidates need to be willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
• Time type: Full time.
• Remote Working Policy: Working From Home (WFH) and Remote Working in another Country.

What To Expect

You will complete three six months rotations after which you will join one of the teams within the Finance Domain. Your rotations might be in some of the following teams:

Financial Planning & Performance Management

The Financial Planning team supports strategic decision-making by providing insight into the bank's financial performance through budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and management reporting.

During your rotation, you will gain exposure to a broad range of financial planning activities and learn how to:

• Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes.
• Analyse financial performance against budgets, forecasts, and strategic objectives.
• Assist in the preparation of management information and performance reporting for senior management.
• Contribute to financial modelling, business planning, and performance analysis.
• Work with stakeholders across the organisation to understand business drivers and financial outcomes.

This rotation will provide you with a strong understanding of business performance management and the role of finance in supporting strategic decision-making within an international banking environment.

ESG reporting & Transformation

The ESG Reporting & Transformation team plays a key role in supporting the bank's sustainability reporting and disclosure strategy by delivering high-quality environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting across internal and external requirements. The team works closely with stakeholders across the organisation to strengthen reporting capabilities, enhance governance and controls, support evolving regulatory requirements, and contribute to MUFG's commitment to sustainable growth and responsible banking.

• Supporting the preparation of MBE's Annual Report, including sustainability disclosures under regulatory frameworks applicable to banks and in response to evolving market expectations.
• Supporting carbon accounting activities, including the calculation of the bank's financed emissions.
• Contributing to the modernization of reporting technologies and enhancing the integrated reporting system used across the bank.
• Engaging with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Compliance, Human Resources, and business teams to support accurate and consistent ESG reporting.
• Contributing to the development and enhancement of sustainability reporting processes, controls, and governance frameworks.
• Analysing sustainability metrics and helping to identify trends, insights, and opportunities to improve the bank's sustainability performance.

This rotation will provide valuable insight into the rapidly evolving sustainability landscape and the growing role that environmental, social, and governance considerations play in the banking sector. You will gain practical experience in sustainability reporting, systems management, and regulatory developments while contributing to MUFG's ambition to create long-term sustainable value for clients, society, and the wider economy.

Accounting & Financial Control

The Accounting team is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the bank's financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards (IFRS, US GAAP, JGAAP), internal policies, and control requirements.

During your rotation, you will gain hands-on experience in financial accounting and control activities, including:

• Supporting month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes.
• Performing balance sheet reconciliations and financial control activities.
• Contributing to the preparation and review of accounting entries and financial analyses.
• Supporting financial reporting and accounting compliance processes.
• Assisting in the enhancement of accounting procedures, controls, and reporting frameworks.
• Collaborating with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Operations, and other business functions.
• Assisting with internal and external audit activities.

This rotation will provide a strong foundation in financial accounting, internal controls, and financial reporting while offering insight into how finance functions support the safe and effective operation of a global banking institution.

Data Management Office (DMO)

In a highly regulated and data-driven banking environment, the Data Management Office (DMO) ensures that data is trusted, well-governed, and effectively controlled to support regulatory compliance, risk management, and strategic decision-making across the bank.

During your rotation, you will gain exposure to key data management activities and learn how to:

• Support the bank's Data Strategy and data transformation initiatives to improve data quality, integrity, and governance.
• Assist in implementing and monitoring data governance frameworks, policies, and controls, including oversight of Data Quality, Data Operations, and Reporting Risk.
• Contribute to BCBS 239 and broader regulatory compliance assessments, helping strengthen the bank's data governance maturity.
• Participate in data analysis and remediation activities to identify and resolve data issues, enhancing reporting accuracy and operational resilience.
• Support the management of Critical Data Elements (CDEs), data lineage, metadata, and business definitions to improve transparency and control.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Operations, Business, and Technology to drive effective data management and governance practices.

This rotation provides exposure to enterprise-wide data governance, BCBS 239, and emerging AI governance requirements, offering valuable insight into how strong data controls, ownership, and governance frameworks enable a resilient, compliant, and data-driven financial institution.

Our 18-month Analyst Programme begins with a comprehensive training curriculum designed to build your understanding of our products, clients, and business strategy. This foundation will equip you with the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed as you transition into your role.

What we offer:

• Annual Gross salary € 47.000 - €50.000.
• Bonus under discretion of the Management Board (max 20% if your annual salary).
• 8% holiday allowance and 13th month payment.
• 30 vacation days per year. Optional you can buy 15 additional days.
• Commuting allowance based on annual public transport 2nd class, most economical way, or € 0,23 per km with a max of 75km one way.
• €5,00 net remote working compensation per day, with a maximum of €60,00 per month.

Additional information

The programme starts on 19 July 2027 with a 5-week entry training at EMEA headquarters in London. Following the entry training, analysts will return to Amsterdam to complete the rest of the programme and on-desk rotations.
