In the Software Engineer – Backend - Azurion Eye role, join Azurion Eye—an integrated, AI-enabled clinical software platform embedded in the Azurion ecosystem. As Senior Web back-end developer within the AI Operator domain, you will build REST-based, microservice-first backend services and data curation workflows that power our clinical data lake and data movement tooling (viewing, uploading, downloading). You will develop secure, high-performance, compliant data services and pipelines that reliably support imaging workflows and connected solutions in a regulated environment.

Your role:
- Contribute to engineering best practices; support and mentor junior engineers.
- Design and build secure, compliant backend services and microservices supporting clinical data platforms and data movement.
- Develop scalable data pipelines and build and maintain data pipelines within our data lake architecture to ensure performance, governance, and reliability.
- Ensure system quality through code reviews, performance optimization, testing automation, CI/CD, and observability (monitoring/alerting).
- Maintain operational excellence by integrating components and resolving production issues (e.g., ingestion failures, schema drift, performance bottlenecks).
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (product, UX/design, QA, data/AI, and engineering teams) to define, design, and ship features aligned with clinical and platform needs.
You're the right fit if:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of end-to-end software development experience, including design, development, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Strong backend expertise in Golang and REST API design (Swagger/OpenAPI) with focus on reliability, resilience, and observability.
- Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., NATS/Kafka/RabbitMQ), Linux environments, and containerized microservices (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Solid database design and performance tuning skills (e.g., PostgreSQL/MS SQL), plus familiarity with cloud-native and DevOps practices.
- Strong collaboration and leadership skills, with ability to mentor engineers and operate effectively in agile environments (medical/regulated experience is a plus).
