CGI is seeking a commercially minded, strategic and modern Director or Vice-President, Marketing & Communications to serve as the strategic business partner for CGI’s operations across 13 European countries, including the Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Italy, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Hungary and Slovakia. Your role in our team
This is a high-impact senior leadership role that is both an advisor and core contributor to our strategy, in partnership with business leaders. Marketing and Communications (MarCom) at CGI is first and foremost a business growth enablement function. Success comes from helping the business win, grow and retain clients through targeted marketing, communications, and market positioning activities. This means you and your team will focus our investment and effort where it can have the greatest impact through innovative go-to-market strategies that help drive growth, amplify our market message with the right audiences, and help our leaders engage current and future talent.
The successful candidate will combine strategic thinking with execution excellence to help support strategic accounts, priority pursuits, industry and metro market growth initiatives. You will lead and develop a high-performing team to create clear, differentiated and commercially compelling narratives and MarCom strategies to reach clients, prospects, partners, media, analysts & other B2B and B2G influencers, as well as employees. You will also partner with global MarCom colleagues to modernize how we create and deliver value through AI-enabled capabilities, data-driven decision making and integrated ways of working.
Reporting & leadership roles
The Director/Vice-President reports to the Senior Vice-President & Global Head of Marketing & Communications (MarCom). S/he is a member of the Business Operations Leadership Team and the Global MarCom Leadership Team. You will lead a team of approximately 30 talented professionals.
How you strengthen our team
Your future responsibilities
Strategic Marketing Partnership & Growth
- Serve as the senior MarCom advisor to the Operating Unit President and leadership team.
- Help shape business strategy with other leadership team members through market insight, competitive intelligence, positioning and communications counsel.
- Translate business priorities into integrated marketing and communications strategies aligned to growth and differentiation, particularly around account expansion, metro market growth and deals.
- Drive measurable contribution to pipeline generation, client engagement and strategic pursuits.
- Ensure MarCom is positioned as a strategic growth enabler to the business, with focus on strategic account growth, priority pursuits and major deal opportunities.
Brand, Positioning & Market Leadership
- Define and lead a clear, differentiated and integrated market narrative aligned to CGI’s brand.
- Strengthen CGI’s visibility, credibility and relevance across priority markets and stakeholder groups through creative, highly targeted positioning, thought leadership and reputation-building initiatives.
- Lead integrated go-to-market activity spanning campaigns, digital, events, account and deal-based marketing, industry analyst relations, alliance marketing, media, and thought leadership.
- Ensure consistency of messaging, storytelling and brand experience across channels and touchpoints.
- Eliminate fragmented or low-value activity in favor of focused, high-impact execution.
Communications, Reputation & Executive Visibility
- Lead the Operating Unit’s internal and external communications strategy.
- Oversee executive communications, leadership messaging and strategic storytelling for senior leaders.
- Drive proactive media relations, external communications and reputation management activities.
- Ensure alignment between external positioning, internal communications and talent branding.
- Provide communications leadership during periods of organizational change, market sensitivity or risk.
- Ensure communications reflect CGI’s values, governance standards and brand expectations.
Employee Engagement & Culture Enablement
- Partner with HR and business leaders to strengthen employee engagement and our culture.
- Lead internal communications strategies that connect employees to CGI’s strategy and priorities.
- Drive talent branding and marketing in collaboration with HR and business leaders, in line with recruitment strategies and priorities.
Team Leadership & Performance
- Lead and develop a high-performing, innovative and outcome-driven MarCom organization.
- Proactively collaborate with global MarCom colleagues to maximize capacity and tap into expertise.
- Ensure the secure, compliant and ethical use of AI MarCom technologies in line with CGI policies.
- Manage and maximize the budget to ensure every dollar invested has an appropriate business return.

The Marketing & Communications business partner will be a seasoned professional with experience leading a team and managing a budget for a professional services firm operating in a dynamic and competitive market.
The successful candidate will be a well-rounded executive as this role requires broad experience in order to proactively translate business vision into business-first marketing & communications strategies.
This role requires a leader who is equally comfortable shaping strategy, developing talent, and rolling up their sleeves to help deliver outcomes. Success comes through influence, collaboration, strong judgment and a willingness to engage directly in the work when it matters most.
Experience and leadership profile
- Deep understanding of the IT services market and at least one of CGI’s largest industries.
- 15+ years of progressive business and marketing leadership experience, preferably in a professional services firm or similarly complex B2B or B2G environment.
- Proven track record of designing and scaling insights-led marketing and communications strategies, particularly account and deal-based marketing.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and storytelling skills; ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Competence in managing and optimizing budgets to maximize business impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or business; MBA or advanced relevant degree a plus.
