Financial Risk Manager IRM Capital Markets Investments

The role

You, together with your team, perform risk management, performance analysis and ongoing risk monitoring activities across APG AM’s capital markets investments domain. This includes among others: Equities, Government Bonds, Mortgages, (IG and HY) Credits and Private Credit.

What you would do

• Provide independent investment risk management and risk monitoring for APG AM’s capital markets asset classes.
• Review and assess investment proposals, providing risk analysis and well-substantiated risk opinions.
• Perform risk and performance oversight (including ODD oversight) and investment compliance monitoring at the investment and client mandate level.
• Fulfill a second-line risk management role, offering independent challenge, advice and risk opinions.
• Contribute to the development, digitization, maintenance and updating of quantitative analyses and tools to support the risk monitoring framework.
• Create information and reporting products on risk analysis towards stakeholders for effective investment decision making.
• Provide professional advice in a proactive manner to stakeholders and act as sparring partner.
• Represent the team towards relevant stakeholders outside the team.

What you bring

You are a proactive team player with demonstrated ability in guiding colleagues. You are able to work with multiple and diverse stakeholders, including senior management, with divergent interests in the execution of their work. You are highly accurate, self-motivating and possess strong quantitative and analytical skills.

Furthermore you bring:

• Academic degree in a relevant field (Economics, Econometrics or Finance).
• FRM, CFA, VBA, CAIA or relevant certifications are a strong plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience in investment risk management and risk analysis.
• Knowledge and experience with risk management activities and risk analysis for liquid asset classes such as Equities, Government Bonds, Mortgages, (IG and HY) Credits and Private Credit.
• Digital, dashboarding, visualization and programming skills with, for example: Python, Alteryx, Qlik.
• Knowledge and experience of the following IT suites is a strong plus: RiskMetrics, FactSet and Bloomberg.
• You have the skills to drive innovation in our products, including implementation.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, in Dutch and English.
