Are you a data engineer with a passion for turning complex data into clear insights? Do you enjoy working hands-on with modern Azure technologies, including Azure DevOps and Azure Databricks, to solve technical challenges with real-world impact?

At Allseas, a world-leading offshore energy contractor based in Delft, we’re expanding our Data & Analytics team. We’re looking for a Junior Data Engineer who’s ready to unlock the full potential of our data and help drive smarter, faster business decisions through advanced data solutions.

Your role

As a Junior Data Engineer, you will play a key role in transforming raw data into powerful insights that drive strategic decisions across the organisation. Working with modern technologies such as Azure, Terraform, Databricks, and Power BI, you will help develop and maintain ETL workflows and real-time data pipelines, including solutions for IoT use cases. You will also contribute to building a state-of-the-art data lakehouse architecture using Delta Lake tables and support the development of multiple data management and AI capabilities.

Your work will empower teams both onshore and offshore to access, analyse, and act on data more effectively than ever before. You’ll collaborate closely with end users and stakeholders to deliver robust, scalable solutions aligned with IT best practices.

Key responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data pipelines using Azure services, with a strong focus on Databricks;
  • Support the further development and optimisation of our data lakehouse architecture, employing Delta Lake for efficient and reliable data storage and management;
  • Create and maintain an environment for Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights for the business;
  • Translate business requirements into robust, scalable data solutions by working closely with cross-functional teams;
  • Apply and help improve data governance and quality standards to ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of the data infrastructure;
  • Proactively monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise data pipelines to meet evolving business needs;
  • Learn to develop scalable, reusable, and reliable ETL batch processing patterns.

What we expect from you

We are looking for a curious and motivated Junior Data Engineer who enjoys solving problems and wants to develop their technical skills in a collaborative environment. You do not need to be an expert in every technology we use. What matters most is that you understand the fundamentals, are eager to learn, and are comfortable asking questions and sharing ideas.

You also bring:

  • A bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Data Management or a related field, or equivalent knowledge and experience;
  • Foundational knowledge of SQL and Python;
  • A basic understanding of databases, data modelling, data warehousing or ETL;
  • A structured approach to problem-solving;
  • An interest in learning new technologies, methods and business processes;
  • Good communication skills in English;
  • Attention to detail and an interest in building reliable, high-quality data solutions.

Experience does not only come from a full-time job. An internship, thesis, traineeship or personal project can be just as relevant for this junior position.

It is helpful if you have already worked with one or more of the following:

  • Azure, Databricks, Power BI or another cloud or data platform;
  • Git, CI/CD, Terraform or other automation tools;
  • Real-time data processing, streaming technologies or IoT data;
  • Agile or Scrum;
  • Azure DevOps or Jira.

These are advantages, not hard requirements. Most importantly, you are curious, proactive, and excited to grow into the role.

What we offer

Why this is a strong place to start?

At Allseas, you will:

  • Work with modern cloud and data technologies;
  • Learn directly from experienced Data & Analytics colleagues;
  • Contribute to solutions with a visible connection to real business operations;
  • Collaborate with people working both onshore and offshore;
  • Build your expertise step by step and take on more responsibility as you develop.

Joining Allseas gives you the chance to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, with creative thinking, collaboration and down-to-earth culture at its core.

You can expect:

  • Competitive industry benchmarked salary and excellent pension;
  • Performance based salary raises and bonuses;
  • 30 holidays days per year, flexible working hours;
  • Company-sponsored fitness scheme;
  • On-the-job training, study budgets and coaching;
  • A close-knit community, BBQ’s, parties, sportive events and Friday afternoon drinks.
