Who we are:
As a member of the FedEx Tax team, you will collaborate with a global network of tax professionals and subject matter experts in areas such as transfer pricing, indirect taxes, M&A, and business advisory.
What you will be doing:
The tax advisor will lead the corporate income tax compliance and will support tax accounting and reporting needs for all Dutch entities within the FedEx Group. This role is based in the Netherlands and will report to the Netherlands Regional Tax Manager.
Lead Dutch corporate income tax compliance:
- Manage the annual preparation of fiscal unity and stand-alone Dutch corporate income tax returns for all FedEx entities in the Netherlands.
- Coordinate work of advisors supporting the return process.
- Manage the preparation of all supporting documentation and workpapers supporting the compliance exercise.
- Support local Pillar 2 compliance processes as needed.
Tax Accounting & Reporting:
- Lead the timely and accurate preparation of annual Statutory (Dutch GAAP) Financial Statement tax provisions & Review tax disclosures
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual US GAAP tax provisions, including return-to-provision
Stakeholder Collaboration & Management:
- Support team members from other tax disciplines as needed (payroll tax, VAT)
- Build and maintain strong relationship with Dutch Tax authority, including inquiries and ongoing interaction.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with finance, legal, and business teams.
- Manage relationships with external advisors and auditors
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, ensuring alignment on tax requirements and compliance obligations.
Process & Risk Management:
- Drive improvements in internal controls, focusing on risk mitigation, process efficiency, and data integrity.
- Maintain strong internal controls over tax processes (Tax Control Framework).
Global initiates and technology:
- Provide input and support for global tax projects and initiatives.
- Stay informed on technology developments and contribute to FedEx’s Global Tax Technology Strategy.
What do you bring with you:
- Master’s degree in Tax Law, Fiscal Economics with 7+ years of relevant tax experience.
- Completed or in-progress Dutch tax qualification (e.g., NOB) strongly preferred
- Strong experience in Dutch corporate income tax & compliance, preferably in a multinational environment or Big 4 firm.
- Experience with tax audits and interaction with Dutch tax authorities.
- Base understanding of Pillar 2 reporting requirements;
- Experience with tax accounting (Dutch GAAP and / or USGAAP) is preferred
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in English and Dutch;
- Strong analytical skills, flexibility, innovative thinking, ability to work independently and exposure to dealing with senior management
- Exposure to other Dutch tax areas (e.g. payroll tax) would be an advantage.
