You and your role

Build and operate a secure, scalable cloud data platform as Platform Engineer Apache Airflow. Working with experienced engineers, you manage services used by hundreds of development teams. From resolving production incidents to creating new platform capabilities, you take ownership of the full service lifecycle and enable users across Rabobank to work with data reliably and efficiently.

Practical examples

• Investigate why an application on the Kubernetes platform is underperforming and implement a structural solution.
• Develop a new integration that makes it easier for development teams to connect their data workflows to other cloud services.
• Automate incident notifications so users receive information faster and disruption to production activities is reduced.

Top 3 responsibilities

• Develop reusable Python services, including application programming interfaces, notification services and event-driven synchronisation solutions for platform users.
• Design and maintain secure continuous integration and delivery pipelines in Azure DevOps for reliable, controlled software delivery.
• Create integrations between Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks and other cloud services in the data ecosystem.

You also improve monitoring, documentation and user support. You analyse complex incidents, manage technical changes and participate in on-call rotations to safeguard the continuity of production services.

You and your talent

• Professional software development experience in Python or another object-oriented programming language, including writing maintainable, testable, secure and production-ready code.
• Demonstrable hands-on experience with Kubernetes in production, cloud platforms, containerised applications and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience with continuous integration and delivery, monitoring, logging, incident management and supporting production systems in a DevOps environment.
• Customer-focused, with close attention to the needs of development teams and other platform users.
• Analytically strong, with a critical approach to complex technical issues and production incidents.
• Proactive and collaborative, taking ownership of services and remaining open to feedback.
