Als HVAC Technical Specialist bij Tata Steel in IJmuiden ben je verantwoordelijk voor de ontwikkeling, specificatie en optimalisatie van HVAC-systemen op een van de grootste industriële locaties van Europa. Je bent de inhoudelijk expert op het gebied van klimaatbeheersing, ventilatie en HVAC-gerelateerde technische vraagstukken binnen zowel bestaande installaties als nieuwe investeringsprojecten.

In nauwe samenwerking met projectteams en onderhoudsspecialisten draag je bij aan het ontwerp, de implementatie en de continue verbetering van HVAC-installaties gedurende alle projectfasen, van conceptontwikkeling tot inbedrijfstelling.

Een uniek aspect van deze functie is de grote variatie aan HVAC-toepassingen binnen één industriële omgeving. Je ziet jouw technische oplossingen direct in de praktijk terug en draagt bij aan Tata Steel’s transitie naar een duurzamere toekomst, waaronder de overstap naar staalproductie op basis van waterstof.

Als HVAC Technical Specialist ga je onder meer het volgende doen:

• Ontwikkelen en specificeren van energiezuinige HVAC-systemen voor investeringsprojecten.
• Ondersteunen van projecten gedurende alle engineeringsfasen, van conceptontwikkeling tot implementatie.
• Ontwikkelen van technische oplossingen om het klimaat in productiehallen, kantoren en andere faciliteiten te verbeteren.
• Optreden als technisch expert en aanspreekpunt voor HVAC-gerelateerde onderwerpen op de site.
• Introduceren, implementeren en onderhouden van engineeringstandaarden, specificaties en richtlijnen.

Herken jij jezelf?

You are a technically driven specialist who enjoys solving complex engineering challenges and translating theory into practical solutions. You are curious by nature and continuously strive to expand your expertise within HVAC, ventilation, acoustics and related engineering disciplines.

You feel comfortable operating in a large industrial environment where no two installations are the same. You enjoy working with different stakeholders, from maintenance specialists and operators to project managers and engineers, and know how to explain technical concepts in a clear and convincing manner.

You take ownership of your work, are able to analyse problems thoroughly and are not afraid to challenge existing solutions if a better alternative exists. At the same time, you are pragmatic enough to develop solutions that can actually be implemented in practice. You also have:

• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• Experience with HVAC systems, preferably within an industrial environment.
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics, vibration analysis, HVAC acoustics and/or aerodynamics.
• Experience working in multidisciplinary project teams.
• Ability to analyse technical issues and develop practical solutions.
• A TVVL Air Handling Technology qualification or equivalent (preferred).

The Projects & Engineering (P&E) department is a proactive and professional provider of project management and engineering services, based on specialized process, plant, and technical expertise. As the internal engineering consultancy of Tata Steel IJmuiden, with more than 250 employees, we support the realization and continuous improvement of production facilities across the site.

The Ventilation, Acoustics and Lubrication Engineering group consists of nine specialists located just a short distance from the production site. They are recognized experts in their field and provide technical expertise to both projects and operational plants.
