About OpenUp

About the assignment

At OpenUp, the focus is on preventive care, which means no diagnosis is provided; instead, the goal is to help people stay healthy, vital, and energetic before challenges arise.

As a freelance doctor on this assignment, you will support users with their health and well-being on-site. You interpret findings and translate them into clear, science-backed, and motivating advice. Your focus is always forward-looking: what can this person do today to feel better, stay healthy, and remain sustainably employable? You make health tangible and actionable in a warm and approachable way.

You work closely with the internal team and contribute your medical expertise to a fast-growing, mission-driven organization focused on accessible, preventive care.

About you

You're a medical doctor (MD) who's passionate about making a difference and helping people take ownership of their health. You enjoy working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are eager to contribute on an assignment basis to a meaningful mission.

We welcome experts who meet the following criteria:

  • A medical degree and registration as a physician (BIG registration)
  • Experience conducting preventive medical examinations, occupational health assessments, or similar onsite consultations
  • Interest in or experience with lifestyle medicine, preventive care, vitality, and a healthy-lifestyle approach rather than diagnosis and treatment
  • Strong Dutch and English communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Comfortable traveling to and working onsite at client locations
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and open to continuous learning
  • A team player who thrives independently and takes ownership of personal and professional growth
  • A natural connector: you create a safe, supportive space and act decisively to help people move forward
  • You live the "practice what you preach" mindset, showing integrity and reflection in how you approach both clients and colleagues

Freelance experience is a plus, as self-starters who are confident in managing their own practice are valued.

What you can expect

Join at a time of exciting growth, where your expertise and ideas are valued. Here's what you can expect:

  • A freelance agreement for an initial period of 3 to 6 months, with the possibility to extend
  • A starting date of September
  • Onsite assignments at clients' locations
  • A diverse and international team with expertise in work and organizational psychology, health psychology, lifestyle medicine, and more
  • A culture of reflection, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Our people make OpenUp a great place to work. We value a diverse community with a culture in which everyone can be themselves.
