Data (Platform) Engineer

We are looking for Data and Cloud engineers to help build a state-of-the-art Data Platform in Google Cloud Platform at our partner organizations. Our 13-month advanced training programs integrate hands-on learning and skill development with working at one of our partner companies.

About the companies

Xccelerated works with different partners in different areas: food industrie, finance, robotica, logistics, etc.

Those companies want to become an entirely data-driven organization. To reach this goal, they are building a new, modern Data Platform on GCP/AWS/Azure which will be used to provide insights and self-service analytics to the company. Sometimes the Data Platform will be built from scratch, and your team is responsible for its architecture, development and maintenance; other times you will be added to an existing team.

You will be a very crucial part of the team. In your day-to-day work, you will collaborate with the engineering and analytics teams and build components of the platform that enables the users to create scalable pipelines and deploy models in production.

As a Data (Platform) Engineer you will:

• ✅ Help the team with building, deploying and maintaining their new or existing Data Platforms

• ✅ Build components of the platform that enables the users to build scalable pipelines and deploy models in production

• ✅ Maintain and develop infrastructure related to data

• ✅ Collaborate with the Platform and analytics teams to ensure cohesive integration between systems and data models are in place

Bootcamp

You will start with 2 - 4 full-time weeks of hands-on bootcamp training where you’ll focus on writing deployable code, containerization, data engineering, platform and cloud fundamentals.

Beyond Bootcamp

After the Bootcamp, you will work at one of our clients four days a week (hybrid), for a full year. On the fifth day, you will return to the Xccelerated office for more theory and practice and other modules. During these weekly return days, you gain valuable guidance and coaching from supervising consultants to support you in the partner company’s projects. You also dive deeper into training topics not covered in the bootcamp.

The Xccelerated personal development program is divided into seven training topics. Each subject consists of one interactive training day in which everyone practices their skills.

From a personal perspective, you are customer focused and have a strong can-do mentality. You focus on results, have a desire to complete challenging tasks and learn while doing. Next to this, you have:

• ✅ A Bachelor/Master level education in Information Technology, Computer Science, Cloud Computing or related field

• ✅ 1-4 years of experience as a Data (Platform) Engineer

• ✅ Familiar with industry big data platform stack (for example: Databricks, Spark, Airflow)

• ✅ Experience in working on public Cloud (GCP/AWS/Azure)

• ✅ Speaking Dutch (at least B2)
