What will you do?
In this role, you combine deep technical expertise with strategic insight. You are responsible for the quality of solutions within a broad portfolio, and you set the standards for the rest of the organization.
- Design complex, scalable analytics data models and pipelines, ensuring delivery excellence across multiple projects.
- Connect business requirements with technical implementation to create maximum value for clients while following industry best practices, including dimensional modeling, efficient transformation patterns, medallion architecture, dbt standards, and performance optimization.
- Stay ahead of market developments in analytics tools and methodologies, translating them into new approaches and standards for Valcon.
- Shape how analytics solutions are built and help maintain technical leadership in the analytics space.
- Mentor senior specialists and specialists, contributing to knowledge sharing through expert training and coaching.
- Act as a trusted advisor in strategic client sessions, helping frame analytics requirements, define KPIs and metrics, and identify opportunities where Valcon can add analytics value.

Who are you?
You are a recognized expert in your field who easily switches between technology and business. You enjoy sharing your knowledge, for example by speaking at events or writing publications.
Experience
- A completed technical bachelor’s or master’s degree.
- At least 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or data warehousing.
- Experience leading projects and engaging with director or C-level stakeholders.
- Deep expertise in modern analytics platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, BigQuery, and Fabric, and analytics tools including dbt, SQL, and Python.
- Hands-on experience building enterprise data warehouses and implementing analytics best practices such as dimensional modeling and data products.
- Experience leading complex analytics projects and managing diverse stakeholders across business, data, and technical domains.
- Hands-on experience establishing analytics CI/CD pipelines and data quality frameworks from the ground up in enterprise environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise environments and agile teams.
- Strong communication skills, including advising on data architecture, translating business requirements into technical solutions, and providing substantive support.
- Effective communication in both Dutch and English.
- You already reside in the Netherlands and hold a valid work permit.
