Investment Planner

The Investment Planner is responsible for managing (daily) media investments with media owners. You will monitor spend with the media owner, asset, and client levels. You deliver best in class buying and negotiation of out of home campaigns and work closely with the (digital) planning department and Sales Manager to maximize investment potential and performance. This includes inventory management, daily trading and dealmaking at client and campaign level and operating against optimization of year (volume) deals. You contribute to local and global forecasting and reporting with regards to investment and trading deals, including inventory to hit commercial targets. As the Investment Planner you will play an essential role in enabling us to fulfil this remit.

A day in the life

• Work with the team to service a range of clients and agencies at the highest service level possible.
• Manage the trading & negotiation across assigned agency business. Oversee (daily) investments with the client service team and ensure that pricing is appropriate and commercial objectives are being met.
• Forecast and monitor optimal use of year deals, including recognizing the importance of and utilizing the maximum of inventory deals.
• Understand and work towards all relevant commercial targets. Assist in the delivery of these priorities within your team.
• Assist in overseeing the delivery of generator pieces/deals (including short term incentive deals). Identify weaker market points and collate and distribute proactive deals.
• Develop strong relationships with all media owner contracts to enable joint commercial success and delivering best in class service for our clients and agencies.
• Actively contribute to Talon’s tools and systems to improve the output of the team.
• Comprehensively understand the media owners, their business and be an internal brand ambassador.
• Develop and grow industry knowledge through attendance of internal and external training programmes. Share knowledge and best practice across the team and business.
• Understand Talon philosophy and specialist business unit’s offerings and communicate them appropriately.

• Commercial trading & deal making experience > 3 years
• Media (preference Out of home) experience > 3 years
• Previous media planning and/or office/admin experience

• Microsoft Office Skills
