WWF-NL is looking for an intern to support the development of an e-learning course on ILP for NbS and DRR.

WWF is an international organization for the protection of nature with the mission to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature. The organization has independent offices in around 100 countries, forming a global network. There is a common worldwide strategy that focuses on conserving biodiversity and reducing the global footprint to a level that stays within the limits of the Earth.

WWF looks for solutions in cooperation with governments, companies, and civil society to realize protection of species and their habitats and a sustainable use of environmental resources.

Background

One of WWF's priority approaches is the use of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) to address climate change, disaster risk reduction (DRR) and other societal challenges.

To support the design and implementation of effective NbS programs and projects, so called Integrated Landscape Plans (ILP) will be created to develop potential NBS projects at landscape scale and demonstrate the potential impact of NbS to key stakeholders. To create an ILP, a lot of research and close collaboration with local offices and Red Cross counterparts is needed. To aid this process, an e-learning needs to be created, explaining the process of creating an ILP.

To support this process, WWF-NL is developing an e-learning course on ILP for NbS and DRR. The objectives of this internship are:

Looking for an intern to support the development of an online learning course on Integrated Landscape Planning (ILP) for Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in the context of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR). • Assisting in the preparation of presentations for donors, stakeholders and internal audiences.
  • Supporting logistical and content preparation for work-related travel by team members.
