Rabobank is looking for a Senior Business Continuity Specialist to ensure that critical IT domains have robust, practical Business Continuity Plans (BCPs) and meaningful BCM exercises. Key responsibilities
- Create and maintain BCPs: Develop new, high-quality Business Continuity Plans for highly complex IT domains.
- Design continuity solutions: Define recovery strategies, workarounds, response priorities, dependencies, roles and responsibilities.
- Strategic analysis: Prepare strategic choices for recovery strategies and outline short- and long-term implementation actions.
- Operational collaboration: Work with operational teams to gather input, validate assumptions and understand practical constraints.
- BCM exercises: Prepare and facilitate risk-based exercises that test beyond basic walkthroughs.
- Assessments and maturity: Update Business Impact Analyses and risk assessments and increase their maturity.
- Knowledge sharing and reporting: Share approach and standards, document exercise outcomes and lessons learned, and support management reporting on BCM lifecycle progress.
Who you are
- Experience: Minimum 7 years in Business Continuity Management with hands-on experience creating BCPs and defining continuity strategies for complex environments and multiple scenarios, including third-party loss.
- Exercises: Proven experience preparing and facilitating BCM exercises beyond basic procedures.
- Regulation and standards: Able to interpret requirements and regulation and translate them into practical implementation, or have in-depth experience with DORA.
- IT environment: Experience working in an IT environment.
- Delivery and independence: Able to work independently, prioritise effectively and deliver high-quality outputs within short timelines.
- Coaching and communication: Able to coach others practically, explain BCM approach clearly and produce clear, high-quality documentation.
- Language: Professional fluency in English is mandatory.
Preferred experience
- Experience in vital or regulated sectors such as financial services, oil and gas, telecom, or comparable environments with strict availability requirements.
- Familiarity with Archer or comparable BCM, risk management or control tooling.
- BCM-related certification such as MBCI/FBCI, ISO 22301 Lead Implementer, or equivalent.
Assignment details and practical requirements
- Number of positions: 2 FTE
- Duration: 12–15 months, with no current outlook on extension.
- Employment type: Self-employed contractors (ZZP) and midlance constructions are not allowed.
- Availability: The candidate must be available for the entire duration of the assignment.
- Identification: The candidate must possess a valid passport or ID card and bring it to the interview and at the start of the assignment.
- Pre-employment screening: Start is contingent on successful completion of the required pre-employment screening.
