Assistant Tax Manager

vidaXL is a global retailer and manufacturer with operations across Europe, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, United Arab Emirates and Asia. The company manages the full value chain, from sourcing and manufacturing (primarily in Asia) to warehousing, logistics, and global sales through its own webshops, marketplaces, physical retail stores, and B2B channels. Its global footprint and high transaction volumes result in a complex tax landscape, creating a dynamic and challenging environment for tax professionals. To support this growth, vidaXL is looking for an Assistant Tax Manager to strengthen its International Tax department.

Role: Assistant Tax Manager (inhouse international tax role)

Reports to: Global Tax Manager

The Assistant Tax Manager focuses on ensuring robust and consistent global VAT compliance, supporting tax audits, and safeguarding the global tax position. In addition, the role provides support to the Global Tax Manager on corporate income tax and transfer pricing matters where required.

You will:

• Ensure accurate and timely VAT compliance across multiple jurisdictions, working closely with our shared service center and local advisors.
• Monitor VAT treatment for cross border transactions, including B2C, B2B, OSS and IOSS, and review returns, reconciliations, and underlying data.
• Identify VAT risks in daily operations, think about logistics flows, invoicing, returns, and credit notes, and improve processes, controls, and documentation.
• Support corporate tax compliance, including CIT, WHT, TP (Local File, Master File) and Pillar II compliance.
• Provide input for and review intercompany and related party agreements, ensuring alignment with transfer pricing policies and the actual business operations.
• Act as the main contact for tax audits, especially VAT audits, and coordinate responses to tax authorities together with external advisors.
• Keep all tax positions, including tax accounting, clear, well documented, and ready for audits and reviews.

You have:

• Several years experience in multi-entity, multi-country environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Tax Law, Fiscal Economics, Tax Accounting, or a related Tax discipline is required.
• Strong focus on VAT/ indirect tax, with solid understanding of cross-border flows.
• ERP experience (SAP preferred), plus strong Excel skills.
