Sales Commercial Intern - Italian Speaker

We are looking for a Commercial Intern to support a key growth initiative at Catawiki: Catawiki Live.

Catawiki is a marketplace for buying and selling special objects, with more than 100,000 unique items auctioned each week and curated by in-house experts.

Catawiki Live amplifies regular auction dynamics through live streams where sellers and users gather around live-shopping format auctions.

As a Commercial Intern, you will help build a strong seller lead pipeline for Catawiki Live, conduct seller onboardings, and support the scaling of this initiative through seller analytics, insights, and guidance to sellers towards growth.

You will help generate sustainable revenue opportunities by opening conversations with new sellers that the Business Development team will work on to turn into committed and fast-growing sellers. Your focus areas will be experienced live-shopping sellers across Europe.

You will get to learn about the Commercial function at a marketplace, including Sales and Category Management, focused on the early stages of our sellers’ journey. You will be part of the team leading a key growth initiative of a scale-up.

What you’ll do

• Identify, qualify and develop leads through online monitoring, call, email and collaboration with sales representatives and experts
• Identify and activate high-potential leads for Catawiki Live
• Onboard new sellers onto Catawiki Live, educating them on how to successfully sell on Catawiki Live specifically
• Facilitate a frictionless pre- and post-Live experience for new sellers
• In cooperation with experts, quickly learn the important characteristics of categories
• Move in sync with internal stakeholders to develop growth plans for onboarded sellers
• Build educational content for the Catawiki Live Seller Academy about how to sell on Catawiki Live and how to maximize sales through Live auctions

Who you are

• Must be fluent in Italian
• You are a bachelor/HBO or master student in Business or related studies
• You are enrolled at an educational institution in the Netherlands for the entire duration of the internship
• Have prior working experience, such as an internship or other work experience
• Strong commercial mindset and communication skills
• Entrepreneurial mindset and problem-solving attitude
• A passion for the online industry, or maybe have a collection yourself, so that you are able to understand the language of our sellers
• Familiar with G Suite tools such as Google Sheets and Slides
• Knowledge of online streaming platforms such as Twitch, Whatnot, TikTok, etc. is a plus
• Fluent in English and in one other European language, such as Dutch, Italian, French, German or Spanish

Our offices in Amsterdam and Lisbon are designed to support collaboration. Most employees operate in a hybrid setup, combining office-based and remote work, with a minimum of two days per week in the office, unless a role is explicitly stated as fully remote or fully office-based.
