What does a Tech Lead, Analytics & AI do?

As Tech Lead for Analytics & AI, you will take the lead in both pre-sales and delivery. You will provide direction for Data & AI projects and ensure that solutions are not only technically sound but also aligned with the client’s business objectives.

You move effortlessly between strategy and implementation: you help clients make the right technical choices, design architectures and guide teams through the implementation process. In doing so, you ensure quality, scalability and efficiency in everything that is built. You’ll work closely with other architects, tech leads and delivery leads within element61. Together, you’ll build a consistent way of working, shared standards and the continuous development of knowledge and expertise.

With your ability to explain complex technical issues clearly, you know how to win over stakeholders at all levels and build trust. This is how you make an impact: not just through technology, but through solutions that deliver measurable value.

Some of your duties

• You are Technical Lead in pre-sales: you design solutions, facilitate workshops, refine requirements and turn them into compelling proposals and RFP responses.
• You translate business challenges into scalable and future-proof Data & AI architectures.
• You advise on the best approach for use cases, ranging from data platforms and BI through to advanced analytics, GenAI and Agentic AI.
• You build trust as the technical point of contact for customers, from engineers to senior management.
• You monitor the architectural quality on projects and ensure that pre-sales commitments are actually delivered.
• You translate new trends into standards, best practices and reusable solutions.
• You coach and inspire colleagues, thereby raising the technical bar.
• You will be working alongside international colleagues and contribute as thought leader through knowledge-sharing and events.

• You have 6–10 years’ experience in Data & Analytics, with a strong track record in solution or enterprise architecture within a consultancy or advisory context.
• You leave organisations demonstrably better: substantively strong, people-focused and results-driven.
• You have proven experience in designing end-to-end Data & AI architectures, with in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft, Azure and Databricks stack, including Microsoft Fabric, and you take a pragmatic approach to trade-offs.
• You also have valuable knowledge of open-source analytics and AI, and know when these offer the best solution.
• You have a thorough understanding of the entire value chain: data platforms and engineering, BI and analytics, advanced analytics/AI, and how governance and security fit into this.
• You have experience in, or the drive to develop skills in, pre-sales: solution design, assessments, articulating value through business case and ROI/TCO, and compelling storytelling aimed at senior stakeholders.
• You are a natural trusted adviser: you’re not afraid to challenge requirements, influence senior management and business leaders, and translate complex subject matter into clear, accessible messages.
• You have a strong affinity for delivery: you understand what it takes to build and run an architecture, and you liaise easily with technical teams and business leaders.
• You have a passion for sharing knowledge and coaching; you inspire those around you and are a natural leader.
• You are structured yet pragmatic: you bring clarity and a clear overview, but adapt quickly when circumstances change.
