Electrical Superintendent

How you can make your mark

In the role of electrical superintendent, you will be responsible for the availability and reliability of electrical systems across our worldwide fleet of vessels.

You will play a vital role in maintaining the efficiency, safety, and environmental sustainability of the designated fleet. As electrical superintendent, you will coordinate repairs and modifications and be part of the E&I department, based in Papendrecht. You will work closely with fleet management, crew, suppliers, and other specialists. The role includes responsibility for the technical performance of electrical installations on assigned equipment and the execution of maintenance.

Your responsibilities as electrical superintendent

• Ensuring the availability and reliability of electrical installations on our vessels and equipment.
• Advising fleet management regarding electrical systems on our vessels and equipment.
• Supporting the crew with electrical issues on board.
• Preparing dockings and repairs on electrical equipment in close cooperation with fleet management.
• Coaching and providing on-the-job training to Ship's Electricians.
• Contributing to the development, implementation, maintenance, and long-term maintenance or replacement of electrical systems.
• Advising on technical proposals from suppliers.
• Contributing to E&I projects for repairs and modifications.

You can move ahead as electrical superintendent if you have:

• Technical and operational knowledge of assigned equipment.
• Higher Professional Education (Bachelor) in Electronics / Instrumentation or equivalent.
• Knowledge of applicable Occupational Health & Safety rules and classification and flag state certificates.
• Basic skills in ICT Office and fleet management systems.
• 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in a maritime environment.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Willingness to travel on a regular basis.

Extra information

• Your team: as electrical superintendent, you are a member of our corporate Fleet Management Team and report to the fleet manager.
• Where you will work: for office-based roles, in consultation with your manager and team, you will work partly from home and partly in the office.
