At Catawiki, every day brings the extraordinary.

We’re a one-of-a-kind marketplace for buying and selling special objects. Each week, more than 100,000 unique items are auctioned, all carefully curated by our passionate in-house experts. Having sold over 25 million unique objects, our mission is to become the world’s most popular destination for special objects.

About the role and team

We are looking for a Sales Development Representative Intern to support building a strong seller lead pipeline for Catawiki’s Collectables business unit. This internship focuses on identifying, contacting and convincing sellers to offer quality objects via our platform, with a specific focus on Collectables such as Books, Coins, Toys, Trading Cards and similar categories, while providing prospects with a great onboarding experience.

You will help generate sustainable revenue opportunities by opening conversations with new sellers that the Business Development team will work on to turn into committed and fast-growing sellers. Your focus areas will be international sellers in Central & Eastern Europe and the Nordics, as well as emerging online sellers across Europe. You will get to learn about the sales function at a marketplace, focused on the early stages of the seller journey.

What you’ll do

  • Identify, qualify and develop leads through calls, email, field visits, fair visits and collaboration with experts
  • Identify and reactivate high-potential dormant sellers and organic sign-ups
  • Qualify inbound leads by working with data and sales tooling
  • Facilitate a frictionless pre- and post-sales experience for new sellers
  • Build and nurture strong relationships with new sellers to expand the Collectables seller network
  • In cooperation with experts, quickly learn the important characteristics of categories
  • Select and grow high-potential new sellers and hand them over to the Business Developers
  • Move in sync with Business Developers to develop growth plans for onboarded sellers

Who you are

  • You are a bachelor/HBO or master student in Business or related studies
  • You are enrolled at an educational institution in the Netherlands for the entire duration of the internship
  • Strong sales mindset
  • Problem-solving attitude
  • A passion for the online industry, or maybe a collection of your own, so that you can understand the language of our sellers
  • Familiar with G Suite tools such as Google Sheets and Slides
  • Fluent in English

Why You'll Love Working with Us

  • Create a visible impact by working at scale in a global organisation serving millions of customers across 80+ categories. In our flat structure, every role has a broad scope and directly impacts both our customers and the business.
  • Learn and grow through our Learning & Development initiatives, including clear development plans and mentorship programmes to support your career progression.
  • A culture of connection defines us. We’re a passionate, diverse team of 800+ Catawikians representing 60+ nationalities.
  • Celebrate life’s moments with us. You’ll receive a €100 Catavoucher when you join, a €50 Catavoucher on your birthday, and an extra day off each year to “Pursue Your Passion”. We also offer additional leave for key work anniversaries and important life events. Benefits may vary by location.
