At SBM Offshore, the Bulk Manager is responsible for all activities of the Material Control team to ensure materials are delivered on time to the correct location, meeting project requirements in terms of quality, cost, and schedule. The Bulk Manager also has an advising role to the Project Delivery Manager(s).

Purpose

  • The Bulk Manager is responsible for all activities of the Material Control team to ensure the materials are delivered on time at the correct location, meeting the project requirements in terms of quality, cost, and schedule.
  • The Bulk Manager has an advising role to the Project Delivery Manager(s).

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain the Material Control Management Plan.
  • Set up Material Control procedures and implement them.
  • Implement and set up the Enterprise Resource Manager (ERM), the material control system.
  • Interface with Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction regarding the material control process, including alignment of issued data, revisions, and technical support.
  • Issue data to Supply Chain and the Construction Yards for procurement.
  • Ensure changes in the project impacting materials are followed up and closed out.
  • Define and adjust wastage as per project requirements.
  • Control bulk materials at the construction site and ensure timely and correct registration and documentation.
  • Advise Delivery Managers by providing Workfront and Risk Analysis.
  • Interface with Project Cost Control to provide material data for forecasting and estimating purposes.
  • Manage the usage of surplus during the project and consolidation at the end of the project.

Education

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering discipline or cost engineering study. A relevant Master degree is preferred.

Experience

  • At least 5 years’ experience in a material control or cost engineer position.
  • Experience in an EPC project.
  • Experience in data handling and databases is required.
  • English is mandatory.
