About Demcon

Our department consists of a team of around fifteen motivated engineers. They work with great enthusiasm on the development of custom electronics, primarily for medical products. These range from smart health trackers and IVD equipment to advanced surgical instruments. We have expertise in both analog and digital electronics, such as sensors, wireless technology, motion solutions, and data acquisition. In addition, we are well versed in medical standards and the associated certification. In almost all of our products, the interfaces between mechanics, software, and electronics play a major role—that is why we work in multidisciplinary teams in which everyone complements each other. We create a working environment where people enjoy working together, feel safe to share ideas, and are proud of what they achieve together.

What are you going to do?

As a group leader, you are the face of the department and a connecting force within the company. You create an environment in which people feel seen, you inspire your team and motivate them by paying attention to the person behind the engineer. You combine a focus on results with humanity and ensure that everyone contributes to our projects with pleasure and pride.

With your coaching style and open attitude, you help the team grow. You encourage development, monitor quality, and ensure that the work is organized in a pleasant and efficient manner. In our dynamic project environment, you work closely with business unit managers, project managers, and group leaders from other departments and branches. Together, you build a strong, committed, and successful organization.

Your role consists of three important components:

Development of colleagues

• You help colleagues further their professional and personal growth. By listening carefully, connecting people, and matching them to suitable projects, you create opportunities for everyone in the team. You guide them in their development and ensure that the department has the skills to work in a future-oriented way.

Improving working methods and the working environment

• You actively contribute ideas on how the department can work smarter, more enjoyably, and more sustainably. You develop work processes that are suited to the market of today and tomorrow. In doing so, you ensure that everyone has the right resources and facilities to work well and enjoyably.

Operational responsibility

• You allocate tasks and projects in a transparent and balanced manner. You monitor the team's progress, ensure that everyone can contribute successfully, and that results are achieved in a healthy way.

What do you bring to the table?

As a group leader, you get energy from guiding, coaching, and helping people grow. You encourage ownership and create an environment in which everyone can flourish. You also bring the following to the table:

• A completed higher professional education or university degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, combined with an affinity for our Medical Systems environment.
• Experience as a manager, demonstrating your ability to connect, inspire, and develop teams.
• Up-to-date knowledge of technical developments, preferably gained in an academic or high-tech environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills: you easily build bridges between the electrical engineering department and other disciplines, and move smoothly at different levels within the organization.
• A positive, motivating style of collaboration, complemented by a healthy dose of humor.
• Proficiency in Dutch and English.
