In this role as a Third-Party Manager (Market Data), you will join Global Procurement, Third-Party & Facility Management within the COO domain. The department’s mission is to enhance financial resilience, operational efficiency, and sustainability by managing critical resources, vendor relationships, and workplace services across the organization.

The department consists of four interconnected teams:

  • Procurement – Driving cost optimization and proactive contract management with the goal of achieving financial resilience through our vendors.
  • Third-Party Management – Ensuring robust risk management, compliance, and governance with the goal of contributing to operational resilience in all engagements with third parties.
  • Sustainable Operations – Putting our net-zero ambitions into practice for our offices worldwide, engaging with key vendors to monitor and manage CO₂ emissions consumed via our vendor ecosystem.
  • Facility Management – Creating a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment through high-quality office services and infrastructure management.

Position & Requirements

As a Third-Party Manager (TPM), you hold a pivotal role in the team and will be instrumental in supporting operational resilience, shaping third-party relationships, ensuring compliance, and driving strategic initiatives forward. You will operate as an individual contributor with significant autonomy and influence across the organization. You are also a leader within your area of expertise and an example towards more junior team members. Your focus is on Market Data and Investment Research.

Key Responsibilities

Third-Party Risk Management

  • Identify and assess risk areas across the value chain and build, implement and monitor effective remediation strategies to safeguard operational & financial resilience.
  • Develop and execute effective internal and external governance structures and manage relationships (strategic, tactical).
  • Monitor and assess third-party vendor performance, risk, and resilience; report incidents that may impact operations or reputation.
  • Independently plan and execute TPM activities, including risk assessments, due diligence, assurance report reviews, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure compliance with the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and other relevant regulations, as well as internal policies and standards.

Performance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with TPM and procurement policies and contractual obligations.
  • Contract management and contract administration.

Stakeholder Engagement and Education

  • Proactively inform senior stakeholders on emerging risks, innovations, and market trends.
  • Build an effective internal stakeholder network.
  • Act as a trusted advisor, providing guidance and enabling stakeholders through tools, templates, and best practices.
  • Train and educate internal stakeholders on third-party management, risk monitoring, and third-party vendor management.
  • Collaborate and engage with the Procurement team on contract changes and third-party vendor initiatives.

Innovation and Strategic Initiative

  • Drive innovation and co-creation with strategic and/or key third-party vendors to enhance resilience and deliver business value in line with Robeco’s strategy.
  • Promote the effective use of technology, including AI, within TPM processes.

Incident Ownership

  • Serve as the primary owner for communication towards third parties for third-party incidents, ensuring timely resolution and escalation where necessary.

Leadership & Development

  • Provide thought leadership; mentor, train and educate more junior team members to ensure quality, alignment with TPM standards and operational resilience objectives, and to foster knowledge sharing and capability building.
  • Contribute to sustainability and innovation goals within sourcing strategies.
  • Proactively identify (process) improvements and employ continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Requirements

We are looking for a skilled and experienced professional with at least 6 years of experience as a Vendor Manager or Third Party Risk Manager, preferably in the financial services industry.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Risk Management, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Minimum 6–8 years of relevant experience in vendor or third-party risk management, preferably in financial services.
  • Experience in developing processes and procedures.

Technical & Regulatory Knowledge

  • Strong familiarity with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., Wft, MiFID II, AIFMD, DORA) and ability to demonstrate compliance.
  • Proven hands-on experience in third-party monitoring, including due diligence, assurance report assessments, risk analysis, and performance monitoring.

  • Applies in-depth professional knowledge and acumen to develop models and procedures, and monitor trends, within own discipline area.
  • Analytical & Problem Solving: Ability to analyse and provide input to complex assignments/projects for decision-making and/or solutions that consider multiple dimensions.
  • Continuously seeks opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness through creative problem-solving and technology-driven enhancements.
  • Innovation & Technology: Demonstrates a proactive and forward-thinking approach by embracing emerging technologies, including AI and innovative solutions to optimize processes, reporting, and ways of working, leveraging both existing tools and knowledge of new technologies.
  • Listens deeply, reflects back and detects concerns, tensions, or areas of hesitation and advises others on complex matters.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at multiple levels.
  • Strong negotiation and supplier relationship management skills.
  • Project management and process optimization capabilities.
  • Ability to recognize when escalation to management is required.
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English (written and spoken).
