What will you do?

As Tech Lead Data Engineering at Sligro, you are at the helm of our cloud data ecosystem. We are on the verge of a major step in our digital strategy and you will be part of it from day one. You work daily alongside cloud and data engineers on smart solutions within Google Cloud Platform. You combine technical depth with an inspiring role: you design, implement and optimise our data platforms. In doing so, you directly contribute to the digital transformation of Sligro Food Group. No theoretical story, but real impact on a large, growing platform.

What are your responsibilities?

• You design and implement cloud solutions, data pipelines and integration patterns within GCP.
• You manage and optimise our cloud data platform, including the lakehouse, hubs, AI and governance stack.
• You work with tools such as BigQuery, CloudSQL, Dataflow, DBT, Cloud Storage and Fivetran.
• You monitor performance, safeguard security and keep costs under control.
• You automate processes and workflows to improve scalability.
• You support development teams with cloud-related questions and onboard new projects.
• You solve complex technical problems and stay up to date by actively following the latest developments in Google Cloud.

What do you bring?

You have at least 6 years of experience as a cloud, platform or data engineer, preferably with specific experience in Google Cloud Platform. A certification such as Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Data Engineer is a great bonus. You are at home with GCP services such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine and cloud native software development. Tools like BigQuery, Dataflow, DBT, Pub/Sub, Fivetran, SODA and Datadog hold no secrets for you. You enjoy working with CI/CD, Terraform or similar DevOps tooling and write code in Python, SQL, Java, YAML or Go with ease. You have experience with data modelling, Data Vault and database design, and you understand how cloud security works in practice. You communicate clearly in both Dutch and English and feel right at home in a team where collaboration comes first.
