Are you an engineering student who enjoys improving production processes?
Do you want to design smarter equipment that combines quality, efficiency and ergonomics?
We are looking for you!

Job description

Your assignment
In our production of reinforced rubber belts, many small steps are required to inspect, finish and package the product. Today, each of these steps is performed on separate equipment. This means the belts are repeatedly mounted, dismounted and transported from one station to the next.Your assignment is to analyze, redesign and combine several of these steps into one or fewer pieces of equipment, with the goal of making the overall process more efficient, safer and more ergonomic.

You will:

  • Analyse the current inspection and packing process and identify inefficiencies
  • Map handling steps, cycle times and ergonomic risks
  • Develop concepts to combine multiple process steps into one integrated solution
  • Design a new equipment or layout that improves flow and reduces handling
  • Evaluate your concepts on efficiency, ergonomics and feasibility
  • Present a well-argued final design, supported by data and drawings

You will work in a multi disciplinary team that focuses on improving production processes, while also being involved in solving daily operational problems. This gives you a realistic view of working in an industrial production environment.

Your profile

  • You are currently studying a BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics or a similar technical discipline
  • You are interested in manufacturing processes, equipment design and process optimization
  • You like to analyse problems and turn them into practical solutions
  • You have affinity with ergonomics, safety and efficiency
  • You can work independently, but also enjoy collaborating in a team
  • Experience with CAD, Lean, or production environments is a plus
  • You are available for 4–6 months, for a minimum of 4 days per week

This assignment can be defined as an internship or graduation assignment, depending on your study requirements.

What’s in it for you?

  • A challenging assignment with skilled coaching
  • Internship/ Graduation compensation of €500,- per month
  • Travel cost compensation if you don’t have an ‘OV-weekcard’
  • The possibility to network with professionals inside and outside your field of expertise, thanks to our diversity of disciplines which you will work with
