Are you the Senior Data Modeller who will propel our Finance & Risk domains to new heights?

Do you thrive on the challenge of defining and optimizing data structures? Are you driven by the ambition to lay the foundation for the Finance & Risk Information Model (FRIM)?

At ABN AMRO, we invite you to become the architect of a data-driven future in the role of Senior Data Modeller.

Your job

As a Senior Data Modeller, you play a pivotal role in shaping the Finance & Risk data landscape. Within the Data Modelling team, you contribute to the development and maintenance of FRIM, our core model, which is essential for managing and harmonizing data across the organization. You ensure that our data structures are seamless, efficient, and tailored to support both daily operations and strategic decision-making.

Your focus extends beyond raw data analysis to the bigger picture: ensuring the structure and coherence of our data models. Collaborating closely with diverse stakeholders – from domain experts to business and IT teams – you transform complex challenges into clear and actionable data models.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and Optimize: Develop and refine our business data model (FRIM), translating changes into clear, practical data definitions and relationships.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with stakeholders, ask the right questions, and ensure alignment between their needs and our data model.
  • Analysis and Bridging: Conduct detailed information analyses and serve as the vital link between business and IT teams.
  • Consistency and Reliability: Safeguard and enhance the consistency of our data model to ensure clarity and reliability in reporting and analytics.

Working environment

The Finance & Risk Data Domain, a dynamic and innovative department, is part of Finance & Risk Business Grids (F&RBG), and plays an active role for all the Finance and Risk departments. We employ 200+ international professionals with different backgrounds who are driven to bring risk data management to a structurally higher level.

Our aim is to generate reliable risk data on time. We do this by improving the risk data itself, data systems and data processes. Collaboration, openness, and adaptability define our work culture, complemented by an agile methodology that allows us to respond swiftly to evolving needs and challenges.

Our Finance and Risk Data Domain consists of 7 departments where the atmosphere is dynamic, open and informal. You are part of the Finance & Risk Data Domain and will work in one of the teams of Finance & Risk Data Modelling.

Your profile

  • A completed higher professional education (HBO) or university degree (WO) with 3 to 5 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Expertise in business data modelling, preferably within the financial sector, with a deep understanding of data structures and relationships.
  • Understanding of the relationships between Logical and Physical data models and data mappings related to data sourcing.
  • Exceptional communication skills in both English and Dutch, along with a proven ability to manage and engage stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong analytical thinking and a passion for tackling complex issues.
  • Capable of translating vision and strategy into execution.
  • Familiarity with agile working methodologies is considered an advantage.

At ABN AMRO, we prioritize your professional growth and provide opportunities for meaningful contributions to our data-driven strategy.
