How do you make our customers happy?

At bol, over 47,000 commercial partners, from brands and resellers to agencies and suppliers, bring more than 35 million products to life for millions of customers. As Senior Product Designer for the Partner journey, you’ll design B2B tools, services, and experiences that help these partners thrive and scale, while meeting the needs of 13.7 million customers.

The biggest challenge

Designing for platform users with radically different needs: small businesses managing 1,000 products and international corporations with 500,000+ SKUs all rely on the same seller dashboard, but their contexts and capabilities differ. Each partner type has fundamentally different needs, yet they all rely on the same seller dashboard to manage their assortment, optimize pricing, fulfill orders, and grow their business. Your challenge is to design for this partner journey while driving impact in these critical areas tied to our company-wide business OKRs. Examples of these challenge are:

Partner Logistics

Fast delivery is essential for our partners’ success. You will create solutions that help them identify the best logistics model and execute it flawlessly across bol’s logistics options.

Partner Assortment Management

This is at the core of each partner’s lifecycle. You will create the full journey how partners add, optimize, and scale their assortment with the right content, price, and delivery promise.

These journeys must work seamlessly whether partners use the seller portal or automate via API. The ecosystem is complex: partners, integrators, agencies, and third-party tools all interact differently. You’ll map these touchpoints, identify friction points across the holistic journey, and zoom into specific problem spaces where your work moves the needle on revenue, partner satisfaction, and platform adoption.

What you'll do

You’ll report to the Product Design Manager as senior individual contributor and join an area within the Partner Journey domain, working closely with Product Managers, Engineers, Data teams, and fellow Product Designers. You’ll contribute to the partner experience while owning the design experience for promotion management, brand experience or partner logistics.

As a Senior Product Designer, you bring sharp systems thinking and a strong discovery focus. You’ll lead research to uncover partner needs and translate insights into scalable design solutions that work across diverse user segments. You’ll shape product OKRs alongside your Product Manager, challenging assumptions and advocating for solving the right problems in the most feasible way. With an entrepreneurial mindset, you’ll prototype rapidly, test with real partners, and iterate at speed, balancing craft with velocity to deliver measurable business results.

The different topics cut across multiple teams and technical systems. You’ll orchestrate alignment across stakeholders, facilitate trade-offs, and navigate organizational complexity while keeping partner value at the center. You understand the full ecosystem: how experiences translate from the seller portal to API integrations and you design with this systems view. You’ll also actively contribute to our Design Community, elevating craft standards and championing user-centered thinking across the organization.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead user-research across the partner journey and deep-dive into your product teams experience to uncover high-impact opportunities
  • Shape product OKRs by challenging problem definitions and advocating for partner needs that drive measurable business results
  • Design scalable systems and information architecture that work across diverse user segments
  • Orchestrate alignment across cross-functional teams and complex stakeholder landscapes, facilitating decisions that balance business goals with partner value
  • Prototype and test rapidly with an entrepreneurial mindset: ship experiments quickly, extract insights, and iterate at speed
  • Leverage AI and automation strategically to reduce friction while maintaining partner control and expertise
  • Translate complex operational workflows into elegant, efficient experiences that drive conversion, revenue, and platform adoption
  • Elevate design craft and champion user-centered thinking within the Design Community and across the organization

Why you can make a difference

You bring 7+ years of product design experience, and a portfolio that clearly demonstrates your ability to tackle complex design challenges for diverse user needs. Your expertise spans the full design toolkit: discovery, design thinking, prototyping, user research, A/B testing, and implementation.

You thrive in ambiguity and move with an entrepreneurial pace, whether from start-up experience or working on shipping products within larger organizations. You ask sharp questions that reframe problems, balance business impact with user value, and turn constraints into creative opportunities. Your systems thinking allows you to work between holistic strategy and detailed execution, while your stakeholder management skills help you drive alignment across teams and secure buy-in for bold ideas.

Most importantly, you combine strong craft with commercial instinct. You know when to ship fast to learn and when to invest in quality that compounds over time. You’re energized by complex challenges where your design decisions directly influence revenue, partner success, and platform growth.

3 reasons why this is (not) for you

  • - Pixel perfectionist You'd rather spend a morning tweaking drop-shadows than tackling a service-design challenge.
  • - Meeting minimalist Cross-functional collaboration feels like overhead – soloists get things done quicker.
  • - Feedback-phobic Design critique is the meanest form of personal attack - constructive criticism is a myth.
  • + Strategically systematic You see beyond individual screens and develop experiences that scale.
  • + Bridge builder You thrive at the intersection of user needs, legal, technical, and finding elegant solutions where others see only potential conflicts.
  • + Trust cultivator You understand that every interaction impacts people’s confidence in bol and take that responsibility seriously.

Where you'll work

You’ll join the Partner Journey team at one of the Netherlands’ and Belgium’s best-known online retail tech platforms, serving 13.7 million customers through 47,000 partners with 2,900 colleagues. You’ll collaborate with enthusiastic Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Product Managers, fellow Product Designers, and Engineers. As a member of both the Partner Journey Design Community, you’ll co-shape how we approach complex design challenges. The environment combines professionalism with approachability: we’re deadly serious about our craft, but believe the best solutions often emerge through a mix of no-holds-barred experimentation, collaborative iteration, occasional mistakes, and a healthy dose of humor. With the freedom to shape our experience strategy and the opportunity to contribute to the next generation of Partner products, you’ll leave your mark on how thousands of businesses grow on our platform.
