Job Description

In this role, you will lead the industrialization of new products and help shape the next end-to-end value stream.

Your role

Leading teams in the industrialization phase of Philips Grooming & Beauty products, leading cross-functional activities to ensure smooth and robust product launches. You will support the manufacturability and supply readiness of new propositions from early development until products reach the market, focusing on building efficient and predictable manufacturing and supply chain solutions for Philips and its customers.

You are responsible for:

  • Acting as the bridge between product development (I&D) and the Supply Chain (internal & external), enabling supply chains for new propositions and innovations to fulfill customer needs.
  • Driving new product introductions at an external packaging location.
  • Driving sourcing decisions together with procurement and supplier quality.
  • Aligning value stream requirements with the business and factories.
  • Translating product requirements into process and manufacturing requirements; implementing lean and capable processes safeguarded by process control.
  • Supporting the proposition by ensuring manufacturability and operational efficiency; improving quality, lead time, factory cost price and supply chain predictability, while avoiding unnecessary investments and obsolescence.
  • Optimizing product design with Design for Manufacturing, Assembly & Test (DFMAT) and improvements by Design for Excellence (DfX).
  • Managing timely and accurate financial status including capital investments (typically <2.5M€).
  • Creating, releasing, and continuously improving tools, equipment, manufacturing processes, and related quality systems to meet product specifications.
  • Ensuring flawless industrialization of new consumer products and that launches are met.

Team & reporting

You are a part of the Product Industrialization Engineer team. This team is part of the supply organization and is responsible for ensuring the realization of new products, matching demand and capacity in the mid/long term, and maintaining the portfolio in the market. You will be based in Drachten and will report directly to the Director Product Industrialization Grooming & Beauty.

You're the right fit if:

  • You have a Bachelor/master’s degree in a technical subject or equivalent by experience.
  • You have strong project management skills and are able to drive a large team.
  • You have strong communication skills with external and internal stakeholders.
  • You have experience in problem solving tools like DFSS (Greenbelt / Blackbelt).
  • You are a strong leader in the project, able to mitigate risk, drive decisions, and influence at all levels in the organization.
  • You have at least 5+ years of experience in an industrial environment with manufacturing technology, lean manufacturing and/or product development.
  • You are willing to travel up to approximately 10%.
  • You have an independent, mature, and positive attitude, and do not give up in case of resistance.
  • You are eager to learn and have an entrepreneurial mindset / can-do attitude.

This role requires your presence at least 3 days per week in the Drachten office.
