ABN AMRO is seeking a motivated Backend Engineering Intern to join our development teams within the Technology & Innovation organization. This is your opportunity to work with modern backend frameworks, contribute to scalable platform services, and grow in a cloud-driven engineering environment.
Are you an HBO or WO student currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field? Then we are looking for you!
As part of our backend engineering teams, you will contribute to designing, building, and maintaining the bank’s core backend services. These teams are responsible for delivering secure, scalable, and high-performance applications that support both internal and customer-facing systems.
You will work within a Scrum/DevOps team of 5–8 professionals, collaborating closely with experienced backend engineers, cloud specialists, and product owners. Your daily work will involve hands-on development using Python, Django, FastAPI, and Microservices Architecture, while adhering to clean coding practices and industry standards.
You will also gain exposure to CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), API design, automated testing, and monitoring. Experience with Azure Cloud or DevOps tooling is a plus and can be further developed during your internship.
