We are seeking a service-oriented colleague to join our HR Services department in the role of HR Services Officer. You will support our employees, business and HR colleagues.

THE POSITION

As an HR Services Officer, you play a key role in delivering reliable, accurate, and people-focused HR services throughout the employee lifecycle. You are the point of contact for HR-related questions from employees, managers, and the HR community, and you respond in line with HR policies, procedures, and guidelines.

You handle both routine and more complex HR queries. You work independently on standard HR activities and transactions, seek support when needed for sensitive or complex cases, and provide clear advice by interpreting policies and processes within your area of expertise and relevant geographies. You deliver timely, high-quality support with a personal touch, researching the broader context behind requests and proactively identifying improvement opportunities.

Compliance is central to your role. You ensure HR lifecycle transactions meet local laws, regulations, and Van Oord policies, and you maintain accurate personnel administration by collecting, updating, and managing employee data in Workday (our HRIS system), as well as related files and archives. You stay up to date on relevant legislation and HR developments and actively contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing HR processes, templates, and procedures.

YOUR IMPACT

You are part of Van Oord’s HR Services department and work closely with employees, managers, HR Business Partners, Centers of Expertise, and other internal stakeholders. You support a broad range of HR activities, from hiring and onboarding to benefits administration, promotions, transfers, and termination.

ABOUT YOU

  • Strong knowledge and experience in (international) HR services
  • Able to independently handle routine HR tasks and resolve complex HR queries
  • Skilled in interpreting HR policies, processes and regulations across geographies
  • Clear and confident communicator, especially in complex case resolution
  • Proactive and improvement-oriented mindset
  • Higher Vocational (HBO) work and thinking level or advanced vocational education
  • More than 5 years of experience in HR administration and /or HR operations
  • Experience working with Workday or similar HRIS systems

WE OFFER

We offer you a position in which you will have an important contribution to our mission building a better world for future generations. In addition, we offer you:

  • a salary that matches your responsibilities and experience
  • Travel allowance (€0.31 per km) and home office allowance (€2,45 per day)
  • 32 leave days per year
  • Variable bonus
  • Pension scheme
  • Collective health insurance (optional)
  • Flexible working from home policy, 2 days a week when working on a full-time basis
  • Extensive learning and (personal) development possibilities, including a wide range of online courses via Goodhabitz
  • You can join communities, like Young Van Oord, Van Oord Women and the Van Oord staff association
  • We organize several (sport) events, e.g. winter sport, weekend of sailing, cycling and a motorcycle tour
