This 12-month contract role supports the payroll cycle for part of the employee population across 11 European countries, with a main focus on Spain. You will be the payroll expert providing advice on payroll accuracy and partnering cross-functionally across the company. The role reports directly to the Team Lead Payroll. The Payroll team has 4 members (including an intern) and works closely with HR Specialists and an HR intern. You will support additional workload demands during peak project periods (e.g., payroll vendor changes) to ensure daily operations are delivered in a timely and efficient manner.

The role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for execution of all EMEA payroll processes of certain countries with support from payroll services in each country, ensuring timely execution. Spanish payroll knowledge is preferred.
  • Resolution of payroll-related queries and issues, being the main point of contact for all international employees and related 3rd parties in the specified countries.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and updating of payroll data across our systems.
  • Partner up with the Finance department for audits, WKR, wage taxes, payroll reconciliation, month-end & year-end closing, rulings, etc.
  • Support HR team with analyses and reports, benchmarking, during the performance management process and other projects.
  • Support creation and implementation of processes and policies relating to payroll, compensation, and benefits; when needed, search for and create solutions for ad-hoc payroll cases.
  • ADP experience (ADP Celergo and Lyric) is a plus.
  • Stay up to date with local payroll regulations.
  • If applicable, lead the set-up of payroll in new regions.

The Profile:

  • 3–5 years of experience in payroll administration in an international environment.
  • Completed higher education degree.
  • High attention to detail, structured & organized.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to work independently as well as being a team player.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Ability to follow up and meet deadlines.
  • Fluent in English; other European languages are a plus.
  • Interested and able to deal with different cultures; adaptable and flexible.
  • Strong ability to maintain confidentiality in the course of work and understand general GDPR requirements in terms of data protection.
