Here’s a little taste of your challenge

  • Build compelling new user experiences within TomTom’s Android apps.
  • Work on next gen technologies: screen replication, advanced car integration, hybrid navigation, cloud integration, deep phone OS integration, and using the latest API from Android.
  • Craft new and improved features and create engaging experiences.
  • Use motion and animation to bring delight to interactions.
  • Move the app forward rapidly, while sweating the details.

What you'll do

  • Develop high‑quality Android features using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
  • Maintain and modernize existing codebases, including legacy XML, Fragments, and older Android components.
  • Build UI layers that consume APIs and integrate seamlessly with the NAV SDK.
  • Write high‑quality automated tests as part of a shift‑left, developer‑led testing approach.
  • Use native Android testing frameworks, especially Espresso, for UI and functional tests.
  • Collaborate with QA, product, and design teams to deliver reliable, user‑friendly experiences.
  • Help shape the next generation of automotive navigation technology, including EV‑focused features.
  • Stay aligned with Android/Google best practices and adopt new platform updates as they’re released.

What you'll need

  • Degree in Computer science or a similar field
  • 10+ years of professional Android development experience.
  • Expert‑level Kotlin skills and strong experience with Jetpack Compose.
  • Solid background with legacy Android technologies (XML layouts, Fragments, older patterns).
  • Strong testing mindset — comfortable owning testing responsibilities day‑to‑day.
  • Hands‑on experience using Espresso or similar native testing frameworks.
  • Good understanding of dependency injection (Dagger or Koin).
  • Strong API consumption and integration skills.
  • Ability to work with SDK‑like architectures or mobile frameworks.
  • A focus on clean architecture, code quality, and maintainability.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.

What we offer

  • A competitive compensation package.
  • Time and resources to grow and develop, including a personal development budget and paid leave for learning days, as well as paid access to e-learning resources such as O’Reilly and LinkedIn Learning.
  • Time to support life outside of work, with enhanced parental leave plus paid leave to care for loved ones and volunteer in local communities.
  • Work flexibility, where TomTom’ers, in agreement with their manager and team, use both the office and home to focus, collaborate, learn and socialize.
  • Improve your home office with a setup budget and get extra support with a monthly allowance.
  • Enjoy options to work from your home country and abroad for a set number of days each year.
  • Take the holidays you want with a competitive holiday plan, plus an extra day off to celebrate your birthday.
