About the role

The Senior Manager of Upstream Procurement Excellence is responsible for elevating Coty’s global procurement maturity by defining and embedding best-in-class processes, governance standards, and capability frameworks across the Source-to-Contract landscape. The role shapes how Coty engages suppliers, executes category strategies, and manages risk while ensuring alignment to global procurement priorities. Operating as a transformation leader, this position builds the skills, structures, and ways of working needed for Coty’s procurement function to operate with consistency, agility, and strategic discipline.

Strategic Ownership

  • Leads multiple global upstream programs across category management, SRM, risk, governance, and capability uplift.
  • Drives the upstream excellence agenda independently, ensuring alignment with global procurement leadership.
  • Ensures Coty’s procurement ways of working evolve in line with transformation ambitions and industry best practice.

Enterprise-Wide Impact

  • Shapes procurement maturity across all regions and business units.
  • Defines and embeds governance, process standards, and operational frameworks used by the global buyer community.
  • Drives consistency and quality in category planning, supplier interaction, and decision-making models.

Change Leadership

  • Leads major behavioural and process changes across procurement.
  • Manages complex senior stakeholder environments (Category Leads, Legal, Finance, Sustainability, etc.).
  • Drives adoption of new processes and ways of working through clear communication and structured change plans.
  • Owns the people and process change elements of procurement transformation.
  • Works closely with Digital Procurement & AI to ensure aligned rollout of digital tools, processes, and capabilities.

Cross-Functional Authority

  • Represents Procurement Excellence in executive and cross-functional steering forums.
  • Partners confidently with senior leaders to influence alignment, decision-making, and prioritization.
  • Acts as a trusted business advisor on procurement best practices and strategic transformation topics.

Project Complexity

  • Manages multiple, global, concurrent transformation projects (SRM, risk, capability building).
  • Exercises senior-level judgment in prioritizing initiatives, resolving issues, and ensuring timely delivery.
  • Implements strong governance and project management discipline across all workstreams.

Ideal candidate profile

  • 10+ years of progressive procurement experience, ideally in FMCG, beauty, or other global matrix organizations.
  • Deep expertise in category management, strategic sourcing, supplier collaboration, and Source-to-Contract processes.
  • Demonstrated success delivering enterprise-wide procurement process improvements, governance frameworks, and operating model enhancements.
  • Strong capability-building mindset with experience designing and rolling out global training programs, playbooks, and toolkits.
  • Outstanding stakeholder management and influencing ability, partnering effectively with senior leaders across Finance, Legal, Sustainability, IT, and Category Management.
  • Proven ability to lead complex transformation initiatives involving global/regional alignment and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Analytical, structured thinker able to translate insights into actionable frameworks and decision-support tools.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, capable of synthesizing complex information into clear, executive-ready narratives.
  • High learning agility, resilience, and a continuous-improvement approach, role-modelling collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
