Are you an experienced commissioning engineer with leadership skills and a passion for complex maritime projects? Royal IHC is looking for a Commissioning Teamlead to independently manage commissioning activities for newly built dredging and offshore vessels abroad.

About the International Production Department

The International Production Department supports shipbuilding projects worldwide and works to ensure craftsmanship, quality, price competitiveness, and timely delivery, from project start through delivery.

Your responsibilities

As Commissioning Teamlead, you will be responsible for preparing, coordinating, and executing commissioning activities. You will work closely with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure systems and installations are delivered safely and according to specifications.

Your tasks include:

  • Developing commissioning plans in collaboration with the project planner.
  • Supervising and supporting commissioning activities performed by subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Executing commissioning activities in line with customer requirements, specifications, quality standards, and planning—on shipyards where our vessels are being constructed.

Your profile

  • Higher professional education (HBO) level of thinking and working.
  • Degree in shipbuilding, marine engineering, or a related field (minimum MBO+ level).
  • Experience in offshore and/or dredging projects is a strong advantage.
  • Proficient in English (Dutch is a plus).

Key competencies

  • Independent & responsible: Able to work autonomously and take ownership of tasks.
  • Strong communicator: Clear and effective communication with colleagues, suppliers, and clients.
  • Team player: Works well in teams and can clearly communicate expectations and goals.
  • Flexible & mobile: Willing to travel to our projects abroad.
  • Organized & collaborative: Strong coordination and interpersonal skills to maintain relationships with employees, subcontractors, and other departments.

Royal IHC offers you

  • A monthly compensation for your time spent abroad.
  • Rotation scheme of 8 weeks on and 3 weeks off.
  • Good work/life balance with 27 vacation days for full-time employment with the option to buy or sell (additional) leave, on top of your paid leave during your rotations.
  • An average salary pension scheme in which matters are properly arranged in the event of accidental death, incapacity for work or unemployment.
  • Good disability insurance.
  • Participation (on a voluntary basis) in the Social Fund, on the basis of which care and related costs are reimbursed that are not covered by your health insurance.
  • Discount on VGZ's additional healthcare insurance.
  • A training budget.
  • A profit-sharing scheme. No rights reserved.
