Are you passionate about connecting with researchers and internal users, understanding their needs, and helping turn those insights into meaningful improvements across Elsevier’s Science, Technology, and Medical, Journals (STMJ) division through training and enablement?

Ready to take on a new challenge in one of the most exciting and fast-moving fields of today, Generative Artificial Intelligence? If so, then we invite you to apply!

About our Team

Elsevier’s Science, Technology, and Medical, Journals (STMJ) division manages an extensive collection of 2000+ journals. The central Customer Experience & Innovation (CE&I) team within STMJ are experts in key strategic and operational areas, and together with our partners across the business, we identify, analyze, and respond to the needs of researchers and clinicians. We do this by combining deep data-driven strategic insights with innovative solutions. Our test and learn approach results in best practices allowing STMJ to develop trusted publishing venues and provide a smooth, effective, and collaborative customer experience.

About the Role

We are looking for a GenAI Adoption & Engagement Manager to join the Customer-Centric Innovation Center of Expertise (CoE) in CE&I. The CoE facilitates innovation across the business and has a mission to advance science with solutions that add value to customers. Starting with deep customer insights, the CoE drives and supports strategic innovation by identifying opportunities, defining best practices, and guiding piloting and implementation efforts to enhance the experiences of authors, editors, and reviewers and support operational effectiveness.

The GenAI Adoption & Engagement Manager will support the effective and responsible use of Generative AI across STMJ by delivering practical training, hands-on enablement, and day-to-day engagement with colleagues and stakeholders. Working in partnership with Learning & Development, as well as with a variety of cross-functional stakeholders, the role will help design and deliver STMJ-wide GenAI learning experiences and develop role-specific learning pathways focused on real workflows and tools. Through training sessions and hands-on engagement, the role will help ensure new AI tools and processes are understood, embedded, and adopted effectively across STMJ.

The role will report to the Head of Innovation Projects. The role will work closely with Learning & Development, the Director of Generative AI for STMJ, other core members of the Innovation Center of Expertise, and stakeholders across STMJ, Operations, A&G, and Technology to support aligned and effective GenAI training, enablement, and adoption.

Key responsibilities

  • Partner with Learning & Development to design and deliver STMJ-wide Generative AI training and learning experiences, including role-specific learning pathways and practical enablement materials.
  • Design and facilitate innovation and engagement activities, such as ideation sessions, deep dives, and interactive workshops to surface role-specific best practices and practical GenAI use cases.
  • Gather feedback from training, engagement sessions, and stakeholder interactions, and translate insights into actionable improvements to learning materials, enablement approaches, and GenAI adoption efforts.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to ensure training content, engagement activities, and enablement materials remain aligned with current GenAI tools, policies, responsible AI practices and company-wide governance processes.
  • Maintain up-to-date, practical knowledge of Generative AI tools, workflows, and use cases relevant to STMJ, using this understanding to inform training content, engagement activities, and enablement materials.

Experience and skills:

  • Experience designing or supporting training, enablement, or learning activities, ideally in partnership with Learning & Development or similar functions.
  • Experience working with Generative AI tools and workflows in a practical, applied context is a plus, with the ability to clearly explain and demonstrate their use to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong facilitation and engagement skills, with experience running workshops, learning sessions, or interactive forums with diverse stakeholder groups.
  • Experience gathering feedback and insights from users or stakeholders and using them to improve training content, engagement approaches, or adoption efforts.
  • Collaborative mindset, with experience working across teams and functions in a matrixed or cross-functional environment.
  • Curiosity and adaptability, with a willingness to continuously learn as AI tools, policies, and use cases evolve.
