We're looking for a Junior Front-end Developer who is ready to take their skills to the next level, and help us build complex, data-driven user interfaces on the web from our studio in Utrecht.

Join our team

CLEVER°FRANKE is an enthusiastic, multi-disciplinary team of 40+ people with 15 different nationalities from across the world and we use English as a primary language to communicate and collaborate. We are interaction designers, visual designers, developers, project managers, data analysts and others. All with a passion for what we do. We are curious about the world around us and apply the same curiosity to our work and projects.

Role overview

As a Junior Front-end Developer, you will work on cutting-edge projects that make a real difference. Your main responsibility is the development of the UI, UX and visualizations of our client- and internal projects. Next to that we are looking for someone who aspires to grow in back-end development. You will work in synergy with our design team and other developers. You are comfortable working in a fast paced environment, have a keen, analytical eye and a pragmatic but flexible approach.

Our tech stack is ever evolving. We are not married to any specific technology and are pragmatic: we choose the stack that fits the job best. We are always open to fresh perspectives on building, scaling, and maintaining software projects. We’re continuously exploring and innovating, and like to work with emerging technologies like AI, AR/VR and physical interfaces.

Though we always adapt our approach to the requirements of a specific project, the development workflow of a typical C°F project will generally include submitting pull requests that trigger CI/CD pipelines with various code-quality checks and automated deployment to a serverless platform like Vercel or other cloud platforms. Team members will perform code reviews to safeguard code-quality as well as QA reviews to make sure all work we do meets the high quality standard that we set for ourselves.

What you bring

As a Junior Front-end Developer, you will bring at least 1 year of experience in front-end development. You have an innovative mindset, eagerness to explore new technologies, work independently and are interested in growing into a Full Stack Developer.

Next to that, you will bring:

  • Your ambition, eagerness to learn and a sharp, analytical eye for quality;

  • Experience writing HTML, CSS and JavaScript;

  • Experience with one of the following or similar frameworks: React/Vue/Svelte or similar;

  • Excellent communication skills in English.

We’d be especially excited if you also have experience in:

  • TypeScript

  • Specific styling solutions like CSS-in-JS, Tailwind

  • Libraries such as d3, Three.js, Tanstack, Shadcn, Radix UI, etc.

  • Emerging technologies like AR/VR and AI

  • Backend skills & technologies: (headless) CMSes, API development, databases, search, infrastructure.

We’ll give you

  • Support from a friendly, passionate, down-to-earth team;

  • A personal development budget of 1000 euro per year for trainings tailored to your personal and professional growth;

  • A personal wellbeing budget of 250 euros per year (purchase a bike, fitness or yoga membership);

  • Two extra holidays per calendar year, because we all have events in our life that we need time for (weddings, celebrating religious or cultural events);

  • Hybrid working from our studio or home – (at least 2 days per week in the studio);

  • A healthy, abundant lunch every day in the studio;

  • Paid train expenses from your home to the studio;

  • A collective pension plan;

  • A MacBook and all the peripherals you need;

  • Inspiring team events; such as our annual team prototyping day, team trainings, sport events and conference visits.

We’ll support you

We find it important that you grow and challenge yourself and we want to ensure that you are supported in this. That’s why we offer:

  • Training courses: tailored to your experience level and needs, personal development planning, and feedback sessions.

  • Our People & Culture Manager: who will help you with your professional and personal development.

  • CLEVER°FRANKE Development week: about 3 times a year, we organize a week where the entire studio fully focuses on personal and professional growth, outside of client projects.

  • CLEVER°FRANKE Prototype Day: a day full of creativity, innovation, learning, and working with colleagues in a hands-on environment.

Please note that for this position we are looking for someone who has EU working permit.
