As an Enterprise Architect at Corbion, you help shape the digital future of our global organization. You will work closely with our Director of EA & Integrations to translate Corbion’s strategic ambitions, such as Bright 2030, into a clear, scalable, secure and futureproof IT landscape.

In this role, you evaluate new technologies (including emerging AI solutions), guide major architecture decisions, and ensure our technology investments align with business outcomes. You operate across the full spectrum: from strategic visioning to hands on involvement in projects, problem solving when incidents arise, and ensuring solutions fit within our enterprise architecture and governance.

You will collaborate with stakeholders at every level, from operators on the factory floor to senior leadership, helping them understand architectural choices and ensuring decisions are made with clarity, consistency, and a strong enterprise mindset.

The role

Key responsibilities

Strategic Architecture & Governance

  • Contribute to developing and maintaining the enterprise architecture roadmap aligned with business goals.
  • Evaluate new technologies and determine how they fit into Corbion’s strategic direction, including AI, integration patterns, and reusable API architectures.
  • Participate as a voting member in the Enterprise Architecture Board (EAB), performing architecture and impact assessments.
  • Translate architectural recommendations into clear, compelling advice for senior stakeholders.

Enterprisewide Project Involvement

  • Support projects at the start, middle, and end—evaluating proposals, validating designs, reviewing progress, and conducting go live readiness checks.
  • Ensure security, GDPR compliance, AI governance, and infrastructure requirements are properly addressed in solution proposals.
  • Assess change requests and ensure proposed changes align with long term architectural direction.

Integration & Application Landscape

  • Contribute to integration strategy and make decisions on integration tools (e.g., Boomi, SAP BTP) and patterns.
  • Ensure interoperability and API design best practices across the enterprise.
  • Support ongoing work on Corbion’s application inventory and modernization initiatives.

Crossfunctional Business Partnership

  • Participate in domain councils to align business roadmaps with architectural capabilities and find cross business synergies.
  • Work closely with ERP, data, security, and infrastructure teams—including SAP teams and the Data Lab—to ensure alignment.
  • Build strong relationships across factories, business units, and IT to understand processes end to end and drive decision making.

Operational Expertise

  • Troubleshoot integration or system level incidents when business operations are impacted.
  • Mentor teams and promote architectural thinking across the organization.

You bring

  • Solid experience in IT architecture with exposure across multiple domains: applications, integrations, data, and infrastructure (5–10+ years, depending on depth and breadth of experience).
  • Experience in global or complex multibusiness environments.
  • Strong background in programming, data work, and integration development, capable of identifying good vs. poor architectural design.
  • Understanding of integration platforms (e.g., Boomi, SAP BTP) and common integration methods (REST, SOAP, JSON, etc.).
  • Knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman) at conceptual level; certifications are a plus but not required.
  • Ability to translate complex technical topics into clear, business friendly language.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the maturity to interact with all organizational levels.
  • A self starter mindset with strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Nice-to-have qualifications

  • Experience working with Data Fabric concepts or modern data platforms.
  • Experience working with manufacturing environments or factory systems.
  • Prior exposure to Corbion’s landscape or procedures (highly beneficial but naturally rare).

What we offer

  • The opportunity to help define the future of Corbion’s global technology landscape at a pivotal time for innovation and digital transformation.
  • A highly visible role that interfaces across the entire organization—from factory operations to executive leadership.
  • The chance to learn directly from and work closely with our senior Enterprise Architect, ensuring long term growth and development in the EA discipline.
  • A rich, varied scope of work combining strategic thinking with hands on impact across projects, integrations, data, and architecture governance.
  • A collaborative, purpose driven environment where your architectural insights truly influence how Corbion evolves.
  • A global context with diverse stakeholders, technologies, and business challenges to grow your capabilities.
