Category Manager IT & Telecom

CRH are currently recruiting for a Category Manager - IT & Telecom in our Amsterdam office. This role will have responsibility for ensuring CRH sources clearly specified products and services in the IT & Telecom category at the best possible TCO. The category manager will ensure that CRH fulfils its contractual obligations and other commitments towards its suppliers. The successful candidate will participate in relevant discussions with suppliers related to specific products/services. They will drive multiple source qualifications and provides price provisioning on product/service level during budgeting or business case phase. This role will be accountable for the execution of the defined Purchase-to-Pay (P2P) process and to implement all category related products and services on a local level. The Category Manager - IT & Telecom will also ensure that Corporate IT business requirements are considered in the category strategy, along with identifying and enabling opportunities for cost reductions, cost avoidance and service improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead category representative for (Corporate) IT functions based in Europe
  • Contribute as a team member of the IT & Telecom category to the further development of the category strategy
  • Ensure proper implementation of the category strategy within the assigned scope
  • Maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and procurement managers throughout their area/scope (Corporate and Opco level)
  • Execute the RFx and tactical process including negotiation for relevant subcategories
  • Support regional and group wide projects by:
  • Information/needs gathering
  • Ensures that local business requirements are considered
  • Local implementation and communications
  • Lead Buying activities
  • Operate in strong collaboration with all relevant stakeholders and is keen on good communication
  • Develop and manages relationships with key suppliers in the category
  • Drive the realization of savings, efficiency, quality, and process improvements

Key Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor or Master (preferred) degree - Business or Technical
  • 2-6 yr procurement experience in the IT & Telecom domain
  • Experience in managing a local category in a multi country organisation is a pre
  • Fluent written and verbal English is a must, other languages are considered a plus
  • Willing to cooperate in international projects
