Within the software engineering department, and more specifically for the CMS (Combat Management System) Infrastructure team, we are in search of exceptional talented Software Engineer

About the job

As a Software Engineer you will design, develop and test software that creates the network capabilities for the combat management system containing operator consoles, radar systems and optical sensor systems. The team is responsible for the entire development chain – requirements analysis, development, testing, validation and demonstrating the current status of the product. The role involves a combination of remote work and on-site duties in Hengelo, Netherlands.

We seek a talented Software Engineer who excels in complex deployments of networks and systems, has strong communication and analytical skills, and embodies a growth and agile mindset.

You have a capacity for continuous learning and are eager to stay up-to-date with industry trends.

Relevant Experiences:

  • Programming language (must-have): Python (OOP, functional programming).
  • Tools and Technologies (must-have): Experience with the following:
  • Build pipelines and support tooling (e.g., Gitlab, Jenkins, Maven, Jira).
  • Over 3 years of experience. Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) certification is a plus.
  • Software Maintenance: Experience maintaining software across Operating System releases.
  • Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Ansible, certification or demonstrable knowledge is a plus.
  • Network Technologies: Experience like routing, switching, OSPF, multicast and firewalling is a plus.
  • Scaled scrum: experience is a plus.

You hold a bachelor or master degree in computer science, IT service management, system & network engineering or comparable. Your colleagues are recognized experts in the field and will help you get up to speed. Thales will gladly invest in your development.
