The position

As Engineering Manager in the Product Line Capital Dredging you are the owner of the technical solution throughout all stages of the project. You will manage engineering activities in tendering and execution, provide clear communication across teams and connect all multidisciplinary and technical aspects of work packages. With your experience you guide teams to deliver safe and effective solutions that contribute to profitable projects in line with Van Oord strategic objectives.

Your impact

In this role you have a big contribution to realizing profitable projects. On top of this you:

  • Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across coastal, geotechnical, environmental, civil and production disciplines
  • Act as the technical authority and primary engineering point of contact in tenders and projects
  • Contribute to high quality technical solutions that meet requirements schedules and budgets
  • Identify risks and opportunities and drive continuous improvement in engineering processes
  • Build strong collaborative relations with internal and external stakeholders that benefit Van Oord clients

Your workplace

You will be part of tender and project teams reporting functionally to the Manager Engineering. Your playing field stretches across diverse geographies and disciplines. You will work closely with commercial operational and technical colleagues and act as a sparring partner who balances customer needs with Van Oord future focus.

About you

You bring energy, technical depth and leadership to complex marine engineering challenges. You’re confident in multidisciplinary environments and committed to high safety and quality standards. On top of this you bring:

  • Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Marine or another relevant engineering field
  • At least 10 years of experience in dredging projects and engineering management
  • Proven ability to lead teams and drive collaboration across disciplines and cultures
  • Skilled in stakeholder management with a clear and open communication style
  • Willingness to travel and be on-site when the project requires it
