🐶 A bit about us

At Butternut, we put the food back into dog food. We believe dogs deserve the healthiest, most natural and tastiest food with none of the nasties. That’s why we make freshly prepared dog food, cooked like you would at home and delivered in perfect portions.

We’re a certified B Corp, which means we genuinely care about our people, our dogs and the impact we have on the planet. Since our founders (Kev & Dave) hand-delivered the very first boxes 10 years ago, we’ve grown rapidly across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Czech, Italy, and Germany and we’re far from done.

Our Amsterdam office is located at the Weteringschans, right above Vijzelgracht metro station. You’ll be joining a close-knit Benelux team of around 25 people, plus a healthy number of adorable office dogs. Dogs are welcome in the office, and yes, you will regularly get to pet them 🐾

📣 A bit about the role

We’re looking for a creative, hands-on, full time inhouse Video Content Creator to help bring the Butternut Box brand to life across the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for creating engaging video content that supports brand growth across multiple markets. From short-form social videos to campaign content, you’ll translate ideas into visual stories that resonate locally, while staying true to our brand.

You’ll work closely with our Brand & Creative team, growth marketers and local stakeholders across NL, BE and DE. This role combines creativity, execution and collaboration and is perfect for someone who enjoys owning content from concept through to final edit.

This is a hybrid role, based in Amsterdam, with three office days per week (Tuesday to Thursday) and Mondays and Fridays working from home.

🎬 What you’ll do

  • Produce and localise high-performing video creatives for paid social channels (Meta, TikTok & YouTube) for the Dutch, Belgian and German market.
  • Create and test scroll-stopping video concepts based on creative briefs, performance insights and social media trends.
  • Film dogs, dog parents, products and brand moments, both on location and at times in a studio
  • Edit short-form and long-form video content for growth channels and brand campaigns
  • Collaborate with Brand, Growth and Social teams to translate briefs and marketing insights into strong visual stories
  • Optimise content for different markets, audiences and languages
  • Plan and coordinate end to end video production, from concept to filming to final delivery
  • Ensure all content reflects our brand guidelines

👋 A bit about you

We’re much more interested in talent, creativity, motivation and potential than ticking every single box.

What we’re looking for

  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • Experience filming and editing video content, ideally for social media advertising
  • Confidence using video editing tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
  • Strong understanding of composition, framing, and lighting
  • A strong feel and understanding for what works on social platforms, being on top of the trends
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Comfortable working across multiple markets and stakeholders
  • A genuine love for dogs 🐶
  • Full time availability, able to come into our A’dam office 3 days a week

Nice to haves (the more, the merrier)

  • Dutch, German and/or French language skills (all three would be absolutely fabulous!)
  • Motion design or animation experience
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools

🙌 What’s in it for you

  • Competitive salary aligned with market benchmarks
  • 25 vacation days + 1 extra day for every year of service
  • 5 paid ‘paws’ days per year for wellbeing or personal growth
  • €500 annual learning & development budget
  • Pension plan (3.5% employer and 3.5% employee contribution)
  • Equity options
  • Weekly free lunches in our Amsterdam office
  • ClassPass discounted membership with employer contribution
  • Lease a Bike scheme
  • Paid sabbaticals after 5 years of tenure
  • Hybrid working + Remote-First periods (Easter, August & Christmas)
  • Travel reimbursement (NS Business Card or km allowance)
  • Dogs welcome in the office and regular dog cuddles guaranteed 🐕
  • Join a B Corp and make a real impact 🌍

📢 Our interview process

1️⃣ Intro call with our People team

2️⃣ Take-home video or content task

3️⃣ Technical interview with the Brand & Creative team

4️⃣ Final culture & values interview in our Amsterdam office

❗️ A few things to know

We’re an equal opportunity employer and value diversity and inclusion. We’re not perfect, but we’re committed to doing business the right way and continuously improving our impact on people, dogs and the planet.

If this role makes your tail wag, we’d love to see your application and portfolio 🎥🐾
